South Coast Glass Inc

We had a company come through our contractor to install our shower door. When they arrived, I explained that I wanted a shower door with one side fixed and one side opening (a pivot shower door) as I had previously discussed with our contractor. The salesperson from South Coast showed me a picture of the shower door but never mentioned that it would be a sliding door or that they would glue one side to the wall. When their workers came and installed it, we were shocked. Not only did they glue one side of the sliding door to the frame, but the gap on the bottom of the sliding glass is a 1/2 inch which should be 1/4 inch. This causes the water to leak out. We called our contractor and explained the situation. He was also shocked to hear they had glued one side, as he expected them to be professional, especially since they charged him $1,500 for the shower door and installation. I later found the same door at Lowe’s for $325.00 Our contractor has called them several times over the last two weeks to have them remove the shower door—first because of the gluing and second because of the leakage, but they never responded. Today, I received a certified mail demanding payment for their shoddy and unprofessional work. How ridiculous! Shame on them for doing such a poor job and then having the audacity to threaten us with a lien for money.

I would not recommend So Coast Glass. My shower door began leaking about 2-3 weeks after install and continued to leak until it ruined my wood flooring and baseboards which had to be removed. Shane (owners son) and Rod (salesman) were both very unhelpful when I reached out for repairs & warranty assistance. They left me with a leaky shower door that they will NOT fix. They will not refund my money either. This firm has very poor business ethics and in my case they left me in a very bad situation. STEER CLEAR AND FIND SOMEONE ELSE!!

Both times the measurements were done promptly and the installation was done in a timely and very professional manner. We are very happy with the quality and look of our new shower doors.

The owner called to ask to come a few hours earlier to take measurements than we had arranged, but that worked out OK. Then it took a couple more days than expected for installation due to some glass breakage in production. But from the time of measurement to installation was only a week and the work was very professionally done. The installer really knew what he was doing and was very courteous. The shower glass looks great.
