Looked for a certified risk arborist to give a recommendation on tree roots under driveway and foundation to house. Brian was punctual and knowledgeable. Gave complete details on what we can do and the needs the tree has to improve its health.

Our cement driveway is lifted about 4 inches by the garage. Before work can begin to repair the driveway repair person strongly recommended an arborist be called in to give recommendations on how to deal with the tree roots before repairs begin.
Brian Mc Gowan of Woodpecker, gave specific recommendations of how to proceed and will come to prune the roots. He also gave specific recommendations on how to protect the foundation of the house from future root damage. This requires the repair person to extend a barrier 8 more inches down and a few feet long. Easy to incorporate in the repair. A further recommendation on water requirements and pruning of limbs to improve the overall health and time intervals required to make the transitions to not damage the tree.
Completely satisfied with the analysis.

I'd like to first mention that Brian McGovern and his wife Heather are a first rate team!
I have one of the largest Live Oak trees in an urban area of northern California and I've been looking several years to find a certified arborist with an expert skill level capable of caring for my tree properly.
Brian is definitely the guy for your most complex tree care. He spent 1.5 days pruning my oak tree and not only did he do a great job, his wife Heather did an exception clean up job after each day.
If you need a tree cut down, go with the cheapest bid; but if you're looking for an expert who can provide the necessary care today and provide recommendations and proper tree service for years to come, I'd highly recommend Woodpecker Certified Arborist.

I needed an opinion in a hurry and he was able to come out the same day. I then scheduled some of the work which was done within a week and when I cam home from work could barely tell they had been there.

It is a one man operation. They have been doing our trees for years. He is just excellent in coming out and advising us as to what needs to be done. The caliber of his work is excellent! He is extremely professional. He knows trees, and he isn't just a hacker. He advised us when we had some remodeling done out frong on how to protect the trees, and he helped us do that. He has done some wire work in one tree for us to keep it from splitting during a storm. He is a busy guy. At the beginning of the Summer he had a three month back log. He had so much of a back log in the Fall that he can't get to us until Decmember, but when we had a crisis with one of our trees he came out the next day. He is a very interesting person to talk to about trees. He generally does work for us every year. His work is widely admired in the neighborhood.

The price that I paid was for a 90 minute consultation. It was a great experience dealing with them. They returned my phone call right away and also scheduled me very early in the morning which was very good. They were on time and also spent more time than what I had paid for. They gave me an analysis of the trees and also gave me an estimate on having work done at some point in the future. I definitely will use their services in the future or when I am ready to have my trees serviced.

They were reliable, very professional and took the tree down without a problem. Although I do not feel comfortable stating the price they gave me, I will say that the price was definitely what I thought it should be.

WE INITIALLY USED THIS COMPANY 5 YEARS AGO WHEN WE MOVED INTO OUR HOME AND 2 LARGE TREES IN THE YARD WERE DEAD AND WERE DEEMED DANGEROUS. THE REMOVAL WENT WELL AND ALL DEBRIS WAS TAKEN AWAY. WE SUBSEQUENTLY USED THEM FOR OAK TREE INFESTATION WORK AND THE INFESTATION WAS SUCCESSFULLY TREATED. WE USE THEM ANNUALLY FOR TREE TRIMMING FOR 7 TREES IN OUR YARD.
