Entire process, even though it took a couple of weeks to complete, was smooth with no hitches.

Issue: Finish Quality
Finish crew did left flaws on the driveway and entry area. Situation was and quot;blame it on the customerand quot; because and quot;they did not know what the finish plan wasand quot; (a landscape architect plan was provided at quote and I reached out to them the Saturday before the pour to ask when we were planing to verify the finish plan - no response back).
Result: Paid the final (discounted) bill to get the collections guy gone. Shame because it was a good experience until they washed off the salt and we found the quality of the finish.

- Estimator was a great guy and did a great job (Matt).
- Demo team was very good and clean/effective.
- Forms team was very good and flexible about final changes.

I couldn't be happier with the work done and the way it was performed. Valley scheduled the work in a timely fashion, got all the water and PGand E marking done, and got to work with large crews for the demo and the finishing. Everyone was very professional and efficient. I had some extra work done at the last minute and there was no problem. I will post some pictures later. Our patio is beautiful and sloped just right to drain away from our house, unlike the previous patio. Thanks, Valley!

In a word, Valley Concrete was fantastic. I wholeheartedly recommend them.
Valley was suggested by my general contractor for the quality of their flat work; he has worked with them extensively in the past. We received 3 bids for the concrete work. Valley's price was in the middle. I gave them an and quot;Aand quot; for price as I factor in the quality of their work and that it wasn't that much more expensive than the lowest bid.
A few things came up, from my side, after we signed the contract with them. My structural engineer had specified 2500 PSI concrete. After doing some research, I decided I wanted 3500 PSI concrete for the foundation and 4500 PSI concrete, denser rebar, and additional thickness for the slab (heavy machines and a lift planned). We also decided to add a grade beam. Valley was very fair with the change orders.
The perimeter foundation top was within +/- 1/16 of an inch all around. I noticed that they ground the top in a few places to get it level -- nice touch.
The slab turned out great. The strength of concrete is given by its cement-to-water ratio. Less water makes it stronger but harder to work with. The concrete delivery driver showed up and said “It’s pretty dry.” Dan, the guy in charge of my job, just said “Yup” and they started pouring. The guys finishing the slab seriously knew what they were doing -- absolutely no problem working with the low-slump concrete and the finish is superb. They were there the next day to cut the expansion joints, as agreed, zero drama.
Three things really impressed me with Valley:
1. They really know what they are doing. They implemented all of the best practices for concrete slabs including putting down an extra thick vapor barrier, a thick curb at the edge of the slab, and diagonal expansion joints around the steel column supports.
2. They care a lot about the quality of their work.
3. They were professional in all of the dealings I had with them. The only real delays on the project were related to weather or changes I initiated.
I am very pleased with both the quality of Valley’s work and the value I got for my money.

The work was good and the driveway now looks good. My only negative is that I was quoted 4-6 weeks from the time I tendered my deposit to the start of the job. It was actually 8 weeks until they started the job. If I had known this up front, I might have gone with another company. Also the company requires a $1,000 minimum so you wouldn't use Valley Concrete for very small jobs.

We were very satisfied. The estimator (Dan Haniger) came when he was scheduled and gave us a reasonable quote. He agreed that we could leave some exposed aggregate that did not need replacing as well as other cement areas that were not cracked in place. In other words, he did not require that we start from scratch. The demo team arrived on a Thursday and the cement layers came the following Monday. One week later another crew came to remove the barriers, boards and do the final clean up. All of the workers we spoke to were very accommodating, eager to please and they did the job they were contracted to do well.

We couldn't be more pleased with the overall result! From start to finish, all crew members were exactly on time, neat, polite and accommodating. Working to our budget, the estimator and job foreman came up with a design that resulted in a lovely improvement to our home. The work was completed as scheduled. What impressed us the most was the attention given to details: Graceful joint cuts, beautiful aggregate exposure, precise brickwork. We wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend this company!

Everyone involved in this project was professional, courteous, on time and highly skilled. Good teamwork was displayed by all. We worked with an estimator, three different crews (one for demolition and building forms; one for pouring and finishing the driveway, porch, and walkways; and one for the driveway approach) and a supervisor. Everyone worked hard and gave great attention to detail. Pride of workmanship was evident in every phase of the job. We're thrilled with the work, and don't have a single complaint. Thank you, Valley Concrete!

I felt that this company did an excellent job putting in my new driveway. They did an excellent job and they price was great. I have a very long driveway and they did it all for $3000.00. They guys that came out here were great. They worked really hard while they were here. They finished the job quickly. This company provided great service.

They did an excellent job and they were always on time and did a quality job on my foundation. They even work with the city replacing sidewalks for them so they really know what they are doing.
