The Plumbing Guys

This was a horrible experience. They came out about 5 times and could not fix the toilet. The people who were at my house were kind and friendly, but the guy answering the phone (an owner or manager, it seems), was extremely hostile and defensive. After the first visit or two, I was trying to understand the situation better. He kept talking over me, and when I tried again (with a very calm tone of voice), he said, "I don't need to deal with this hostility." After the final visit, when I called, he told me that the toilet needed to be replaced. When again I calmly started to ask questions to understand if there is a general diagnostic done, if there was an indication of this earlier, I would have been willing to replace it. He shut me off again, became very angry and defensive, and throughout, did not apologize once, did not acknowledge how frustrating the situation might be for me. I will never use this company again!

Great. They came out the same day, the tech was courteous and professional. There was no charge as they were minor fixes. I thought that was a nice touch; very "old school". It will definitely make me call them again for any plumbing issues and I'll be recommending them to family and friends.

TPG arrived in 30 minutes, took a quick look and quoted $1500. (I had already received a diagnosis and repair quote from another company.)   They could finish that day.  I said OK.  They did the job, maybe with a bit less professionalism than the $4000 company in their spiffy coveralls and booties, but The Plumbing Guys did the job right, and for a reasonable price. (I've since been under the house to check.)  They left a little dust that they missed in sweeping.
