POLICY BATH & SHOWERS

Troy, the technician from Policy, did a great job measuring for and installing the Swanstone shower surround, along with the swinging glass door and additional fixtures including a folding shower bench and grab bar. When there were issues, such as when the shower pan was installed incorrectly, he advised us as to what steps to take next. Moreover, back at Policy's store, a friendly lady (whose name I've misplaced, alas, one of the managers, I believe) coordinated with our general contractor (as this was part of a complex renovation) to reschedule the installation.

The end result is quite nice! The shower surround is floor to ceiling, and not only includes the fixtures mentioned, but also an exterior window (with sill), and a shower nook. Considering it's a rather customized installation, along with the hiccups with other contractors, Policy performed well.

Update on something we nearly forgot to mention: While they were working on shaping the Swanstone to fit our shower, we noticed that instead of using a vacuum (e.g., PowerVac) to clean up the plasticized particles, they just flushed it down the street drain. While we'd still recommend Policy, I would add that one should be vigilant about such polluting, and ask them to use a vacuum (or similar method) to clean up the debris and taken away appropriately and more ecologically.

I've adjusted the grading accordingly.

The family that owns Policy Bath was great to work with. We did however, have real problems with the contractor who was associated with them. Although he was prompt and we ended up with a nice bathroom, the experience was not a pleasant one. There were too many mistakes both big (in plumbing and laying the floor), as well as little ones ( when installing towel racks, for instance, he managed to chip off the surrounding paint at each and every location and made no attempt to touch up). Each day he was at the house there was always loud swearing, not the occasional swear word, which would have been ok, but enough that we felt the need to go outside to get relief. Then there were his vaguely racist remarks. In contrast to Bruce, the installers who worked directly for Policy Bath (shower door and mirror installers and marble installers were great. I would still recommend Policy Bath, but if you need a contractor, get your own, or try their other one.

A GENTLEMAN NAMED BILL ARRIVED AT THE TIME SCHEDULED. HE HAD ALL THE NECESSARY TOOLS AND MATERIALS. THE MIRRORED DOORS WERE INSTALLED VERY QUICKLY AND THE PRICE WAS REASONABLE.
