Troy was very easy to schedule with. He came out to assess our situation and give us a quote, arriving on time and in good cheer. What a personable guy! What struck me most was how educational he was; he made sure I not only understood what needed to be done, but also why and how, and how things got this way in the first place (basically running the central AC introduces dampness into your system, which over time can accelerate the ducts' rusting and deteriorating. Not to mention that they were 50+ years old and also very poorly insulated. He answered every one of my questions in a straightforward, honest manner, told me what I needed and also what I did not need. He explained the efficiency of the new ducting material and also why flexible was superior. His quote was good; I had feared much higher (and was given an informal estimate by another contractor about $800 more (!) which seemed very dishonest to me.

I would recommend Troy Petty's services to anyone. He is professional, neat, clean, intelligent, honest, personable, punctual, efficient and really knows his business. He respected me and our property; even cared enough to make sure our kitty did not accidentally escape with all the goings-on. And he warranties his work - parts and labor. My experience was that Troy lives up to his word and has great follow-through. I will definitely call him next time I need Heating/AC services, or even just have a question.

As winter approached and temperatures dropped, the 35 year old furnace decided to quit working. Since I had a remodeling design in progress with Gridley Construction, I contacted them and they sent Troy Petty of Petty Heating and Air Conditioning. He examined the old furnace in the attic along with the ducting and recommended a new high efficiency furnace. Troy worked with Gridley's architect and they determined that the best place for the furnace in the new design would still be in the attic. Troy and Patrick arrived on a Thursday afternoon and had the new furnace totally installed and operational by Friday afternoon. I am quite pleased with the quality of work, the professionalism displayed by Troy and Patrick and how well the new furnace heats the house. Once construction of the remodeling is underway, I plan to have Troy return and work on the ducting for both the new areas and the existing areas.

Both jobs were completed promptly and overall I was satisfied with the work except for some minor cosmetic details. I was very satisfied with the price compared to other quotes I received. The work was done by the owner of the company and his staff and he was very polite and pleasant to deal with.

The Air Conditioner condensation pipe started leaking and flooded the garage. Our original A/C installer said they were booked until July 14th (this was the 9th) and could not make repairs until then. I called another plumbing company and they recommended Troy with Petty Heat and Air. Troy actually was on a job not far away and was able to come to my home before 10am the same day. He had 2 apprentices with him in case the job was bigger. He diagnosed the problem quickly, went to a local hardware store for parts and made the repair in 30 minutes. He only charged me $50, which I thought was great given the last minute notice and urgent nature of the call. I would have paid more given it was going to be a 100 degree day!

It was one of the easiest parts of the construction done to our home! Knowing that we were new homeowners, when Troy came out for the consultation he made a list of items that needed to be done immediately and future projects. We moved forward with the "immediate list" and he was able to get in and work around the other contractors. I know there were ducts that were secured that were not seen during the initial estimate however he took care of it and kept his commitment to cost and completion. He and his team were professional, clean and courteous. I am having an air conditioning system installed this summer and Petty Heating and Air Conditioning will definitely be the company I call.
