The installation of the gas line was done quickly and professionally. The arrival of the Log set took a little while but were installed as soon as they arrived. They were neat and professional and showed us how to work the gas line and the new gas log set with the remote.

They installed a gas fireplace and everything went well. I will use them again.

The install on the Mendota was held up a little since a marble slab fascia was going to be installed and the installers didn't place the firebox exactly as planned or close off the opening to the attic in the time scheduled.

Penguin does good quality work but I think they run tight on their install schedule so if they don't get the work done as scheduled they may run into reschedule issues.

Overall they do good work at a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family.

These guys are great from the time I went into their store to look at the different fireplace models, through coming out to my house to measure and help design the area of where my old wood fireplace stood. Effrem is a professional and was accurate in his estimations and timing to complete the job.  Beyond just installing the gas line and fireplace, Penguin was able to install the stone and the wood flooring in the area where the old fireplace was. The only thing I had to do was get the permits for the gas line. They did everything else. I was concerned about having to get a stone layer guy and then a hardwood flooring guy after penguin installed the fireplace, but to my surprise they were able to do the whole job, and the stone work and flooring look better than any other work I've had done around the house with other expert contractors. I would highly recommend Penguin!

They were pretty good people and they did a good job. They came out and asked me what I wanted and what they would suggest. Then they came in and installed it. Their price was unbeatable and I don't know anyone who would have done it better.  I was really happy with their service and I've recommended them to others.

The house I moved into has a gas fireplace.  I used it once and the heat went directly up and was very hot.  I used another Angie's list vendor to come check it out.  He said it was fine and there was nothing he could do.  I contacted Penguin some months later.  Their tech came out and first thing he did was take a temperature reading with the fireplace on and said it was operating too hotly.  He indicated there wasn't a blower in it that would send the heat out instead of up.  We made arrangement for him to order the blower.  Several weeks later he returned, installed the blower with a separate switch and also installed a heat shield on top of the fireplace.  The technicians were right on time, completed the work very quickly, explained everything to me in detail. and cleaned up after themselves.  I was very pleased with their work and professionalism.  I highly recommend them.

They are very good. They're easy to get an appointment with, they showed up on time, their workman are professional, knowledgeable, friendly, clean up after themselves, and do a good job. I've used them for a number of years now.

They did a good job and it is working fine.  They did a good job explain alternatives and came out and measured everything and the installation went fine.

The wood burning fireplace  fit the style of our farm house much more than the gas insert did.  Penguin came out and looked at the space.  They recommended some work be done to make this fireplace functional  (mortar touch up, painting, chimney cap, a wood burning panel reflector to draw in more heat and the glass door).  All of this work came at a reasonable price.  I am very pleased with the end results.

We're delighted with the outcome.  The new fireplace looks great.  Penguin delivered on everything, as promised and they completed the job 1 day early.  They were very easy to work with.  I would definitely recommend Penguin, to others.

My husband dealt with him but I saw the gentleman who came in. He was very good and he knew what he was doing. I think it cost around $200 and something. He was on time. My husband also asked him a couple of questions and he told him what he needed to know.

It went very well. They gave us a very good quote and they stuck to it. They came on time and finished the work on time. It was a clean crew and we were very satisfied.

I wish the rest of the remodel had been as easy as the fireplace!  They were great about contacting me to set appointments and reliable about showing up when they said they would.  The work was done quickly and professionally.  During the shopping process they were helpful and knowledgeable but never pushy the way another shop was.  I would highly recommend Penguin Fireplaces!

We were looking for a gas fireplace insert to replace a very old wood fireplace. We checked out the website for Penguin Fireplaces, and then visited their showroom where they have a number of fireplaces set up so you can actually see what they look like and how they work. Gladys showed us around and talked generally about what is available and what to expect in the way of cost. She provided brochures for 3 different manufacturers that we were able to take home and ponder. We didn't feel pressured or overwhelmed. I emailed Gladys a couple of days later to request an in-home consultation. Ephrain came out to discuss options and answer questions. He brought a tablet with visuals that were really helpful as we looked at our doggy-old wood fireplace and tried to imagine a gas fireplace instead. I emailed our choices to Gladys and she provided a final estimate almost immediately. We sealed the deal by email. Installation was scheduled about 2 weeks out and everything went very smoothly, on schedule and at the agreed-upon price. It's July right now--way too hot to actually use our new gas fireplace--but we've tested it out and we're very happy at this point. We still need to have cabinets and a mantel built, but that'll be another project for another day.

I've been using a pellet stove to heat my art studio for about 20 years and decided to change to gas when I recently remodeled the studio.  I had planned on doing the removal of the hearth and rock wall but they made an offer that no one in there right mind would refuse.  They did the removal quickly with very little disruption.  I only needed them to run a short gas line, do the direct venting and set the fireplace.  All the cabinet and finish work would be done by me.  
Since its now summer I really have no need for heat but was impressed with how beautiful and realistic the fire looks.

The workmen that came out to the house were phenomenal. They were clean, they knew their systems, they answered questions, and they were awesome to work with. The fellow who followed up in the showroom, that did not go well. And my husband had to end up dealing with the main office. And once the main office jumped on it everything went smoothly and they apologized profusely. So I don't know what it was, but their work was superior. In our family room we had an insert put in. I was kind of picky about the look in the house. They were able to cut it down and it just looked really classic. I can't tell how much we've enjoyed it since we've had it put in. In our living room we had gas logs. It's not used that much; it's more for effect over the holiday time. And again the workmen were just clean as a whistle, with little booties. They were very considerate. They were just fantastic. I would highly recommend them. Other than the little blip with the sales person who didn't quite have the information, but that was sorted out. Their prices were comparable and we were pleased because our insert was one of the latest models that were out.

I am impressed with the guys that are here and I was impressed with the owner of the company. He is very low key and seems to be very honest. They were very prompt in getting back to me. They are very knowledgeable. They have just been here for 2 or 3 hours and they intend to finish the job in 2 or 3 days.

We called Penguin and they immediately scheduled a convenient appointment. Efraim arrived promptly, investigated the problem and found the wire to the fan had burned through because it ran too close to the hot elements.  He repaired the wire, did needed maintenance on the fireplace and thoroughly cleaned the glass door. The fireplace works perfectly again. We were very pleased with their prompt courteous service  and would use them again.

Selection was easy and the installation estimate and actual work were done as planned. Took about 6 hours from the polite and very efficient crew. We chose high-end units and we're very happy with them - they heat the whole house very efficiently (though we have yet to see the full impact on our gas bills!) and it's likely we will use them a lot more than we actually planned! We might have found a cheaper source or a lower cost option somewhere else but we're very happy with this choice of units and of installer.

Penguin fireplaces was highly professional in helping me install the fireplace (Napoleon LHD-45) even though I purchased the unit through an online vendor.  Allan and Effrian were extremely professional and punctual in getting all the details worked out with my project manager at my new home construction site.  They guided us through the install and the follow up was great.  Excellent service!  They are very competitive for installation services.  I have a very long vent to my roof and hence a higher piping cost.  Highly recommended.
