Nichols Retaining Walls & Pavers

Les Nichols had many discussions with us about ways to repair/replace our retaining wall.  Work was delayed, first on our part, then on his.  He called us more than a few times during our delays to touch base, reconfirm our plans, etc.  The work involved discussions with the city engineer, and the owners of the lot behind ours.  Les took care of all of this on our behalf.  The two workers that were here daily were great.  His prices were reasonable, and he was exceptionally good to deal with.  The new wall looks great.  I was impressed that on the last day, Les himself came to clean up, sweep up, restack our fire wood, and generally got things back in order.  We would not hesitate to work with him again.

He arrived on time, he and his crew worked diligently for three days and completed the work ahead of schedule. Because of the difficulty of the terrain he had to access the site from my neighbors property above the area of concern. He did an excellent job of explaining the nature of the work to me and my neighbor and how he would minimize any impact on our neighbors property. They were at all times courteous and diligent. He structured the wall so it meshed well with the terrain and minimized its impact on the landscape. 

The wood retaining wall in our backyard was old and collapsing.  After getting a couple of quotes, we decided to go with Nichols because: 1) he is professional and knowledgeable, 2) he quoted $2,000 less and 3) his estimated time to clear the old wall and build a new wall was a couple days less than the other guys!  He brought by sample blocks for us to look at on Sunday, started work on Monday and by Wednesday afternoon we had a new wall!  The wall looks really nice and level and a hundred times better than our old wood mess.
