MEZA'S FENCE

Great communication and quote process, people in the office were wonderful, price was really good and came recommended by a neighbor. They built everything quickly and I had a choice of grades of redwood to choose from to control cost. Easy to work with and excellent workmanship. We had used Sierra before and were disappointed despite good reviews. The next time we need to replace a fence or repair it we will call Mezas for sure.

They had the best price, really reasonable and we couldn't be happier with the result. They were on time and finished a day early and cleaned up really well. The quality is great, much sturdier than our old fence ever was. The custom gate is gorgeous, drawing raves from all our neighbors. When we have to do the rest of our fence, we will definitely use them again.

They emailed me to find out where we are located and I never heard from them again. We live in Santa Cruz, CA. And they say that they service this area on their website.

Great. Santiago showed up promptly for estimate appointment and gave me a very good quote. Work was scheduled. Crew showed up promptly as promised. Estimated only 2 days for entire job and they were done in 2 days! Very nice, hard working crew. Cleaned everything up nicely. Made sure ahead of time I knew what they were proposing to do and got my approval. Anything I questioned they took care of to my satisfaction. This was the second time I hired Mezas and I would hire them again and I do give their name as a referral.

Got a quote from Julian that was competitive, and scheduled an appointment for fence installation four weeks out because they were busy. The team came on the scheduled date and were very quick, efficient with their work. They pointed out that installing my gate the old way would've caused problems, and suggested and alternative. The hardware used on the gates was very high quality compared to what I have had before. It's been a few months now and the fence and gate are holding up well.

I called in about 10 days back and was given 5/18 as an appointment for estimate. When I called today my appointment does not even show in the register or some second book the lady mentioned on the call. Now I am told I have to wait another 2 weeks just to get another appointment for an estimate. The lady just repeated that my appointment does not show in the register. I felt like a liar!! She made no attempt to try to do something sooner. When I said I can't wait for so long for next appointment and may have to look elsewhere, she didn't even try to persuade me to reconsider. Wow.. I am glad I am not going with these guys.

After checking out a number of companies, we finally chose Meza's Fence and are very pleased with the result. Julian worked with us on the estimate and did a great job in detailing a number of options that we might consider (i.e. grade of wood, size/style of individual boards and posts, fence style, etc.). At our request, he provided two quotes for replacing our 66-foot fence. The first quote was for a simple board-on-board "Good Neighbor" fence; the second quote included one-foot privacy lattice at the top, which was the style our neighbor preferred. After seeing the cost (split with our neighbor) wasn't too much more, we decided to go with the lattice and are really glad that we did. The fence looks beautiful! The two-man crew showed up right on time and tore down the old fence with minimum fuss and noise, hauled the debris to their truck, and set to work constructing the new fence. They started at 8 AM and finished shortly before 3 PM...right within the estimated time-frame that Julian had described. We would definitely use Meza's Fence again and highly recommend this company.

I am very pleased with the Fence. Julian arrived at the scheduled time. He assisted me with the details of what removing and replacing a Fence would entail, as well as the Bid, which included information for 2 of my neighbors. He provided the information before he left. He responded promptly to my queries via e-mail. Alvaro and Juan arrived at the scheduled time. Alvaro took the time to review with me the details of the Job and answer my questions some of which I needed him to repeat and he did so with grace and patience. They were organized and knowledgeable and worked throughout the day until the the Project was finished, in one day. They left the Yard free of debris. I would certainly recommend MEZA'S Fence to others.

The crew arrived on time and was very easy to work with. Except for the expected noise of hammers and electrical tools, they were quiet, no music, no loud talking. Whenever I had a question they would answer it right away. They even made a extra trip to get me the exact top I wanted for the gate. They left my back yard and neighbor's yard in better shape then it was when they arrived and hauled off all the weeds and wood. I have a small dog that can dig under a gate or fence, but they secured the areas so she won't escape.

I got 3 quotes from different fence co.s and Mezas Fence was by far the best priced, and most responsive. I was very please with the quality of workmanship and how nice the whole thing came out. I've used this co in the past and will continue to use them and have recently referred them.

t m quite satisfied with the work that was performed, although not as satisfied with the customer service. The 2 man crew arrived on time, did a professional job and cleaned up after themselves. The gates look great. They did exactly what the estimator and I discussed. The other 2 quotes I got (from phone book listings) were a little less expensive, but had no reviews on Angie's List. Never got a follow-up call confirming that crew was coming the next day, which was frustrating since there WAS a bit of confusion earlier on the date and the appointment was scheduled almost a month ahead. I called them the first thing in the morning on the day before the appointment for confirmation and left a message. Finally got a call back at the end of they day from a woman at Meza's Fence who said she didn't know whether I was on the schedule for the next day or not. Huh? Then why not find out before you called me? . She said she would find out and get back to me, but never did. They did show up when expected, however.

Removed existing fence. Arrived on time and finished in one day. Solid, beautiful, on schedule, and on budget.

Took time off of work to meet the vendor for an estimate. Vendor didn't show up, and also didn't return my voicemail to see if they were still coming.

Tried several companies. Most didn't reply. Sierra Lumber doesn't do repairs but did give me a name of someone. But since I could not find them on Angie's List or anywhere else, I decided to not to go that route. I filled out the form on Meza's website, but didn't hear back. (Which is why I gave them a B although it was really more like a B+ / A-.) I tried calling and had no problem setting up an appt. for an estimate. Juan Carlos called me on the day of the appt saying he was in the neighborhood and asked if he could stop by earlier, which was ok with me. Juan is a very nice guy and was very professional. I was happy with his estimate and so I accepted it that day. He said he would call on Monday to schedule it. He didn't call, but when I called on Tuesday he set up the appt for the next week and apologized for forgetting. And to be fair this was a small job. They ended up having some time free up that week so we moved up the date to Friday. The workers were very nice and did a great job. A couple of small hiccups. My fence called for 6' boards and they only had 5' on the truck. They asked if they could just double up the kickboard but I told them no, it had to match. They called Juan who brought over the 6' boards. In the meantime they worked on the framing. So I was happy with they way they resolved the issue - good customer service. Second, they didn't have a drill bit to go through the 4x6 for a string for the fence latch. Again, to be fair, Juan missed the latch on the bid and fortunately they had one on the truck. So I was just happy that I got the latch installed. Finally, while they were working I asked them to leave the old 4x6's because I could use them. And they actually brought one back from the truck that they had already loaded. But apparently when they did final clean up they took both of the posts. Not a big deal (and my wife will probably be happier that they took them instead of me adding them to my pile of wood :).

Left a voicemail message and received No call back.

Juan Carlos was very professional when he came to give us our estimate. He told us exactly what his crew would do. On the day of the installation, his crew showed up right on time and were very efficient. My husband and I are very pleased with the results and would recommend Meza's Fence for high-quality fencing.

Meza's Fence did a great job using high-quality materials. They came on-time and completed the work in less than a day. Was very impressed with the quality of their work and fencing materials used, at a very fair price.

I filled out the form on their website for an estimate on Friday. They got back to me immediately and scheduled the estimate for Monday. Juan called me to let me know he was running a little late, even though he ended up only being about 10 minutes late. He looked over the job and gave me a verbal quote, then asked if I wanted him to write it down or email it to me. He emailed me the quote less than 30 minutes after he left. It was right in line with the other quotes I had received. Meza's Fence sent us a holiday card letting us know that they would be closed around Christmas and New Years. I let them know on Jan 6 that we would go with them and Juan scheduled the work to be done the next week. The crew was a couple minutes early and got right to work. When I came home for lunch, they were almost done. They finished the entire job in about 2/3 of a day and did a great job. My fence looks great and they hauled away the old rotting fence. They even piled up all the ivy they removed so I could get rid of it easily. I would highly recommend Meza's Fence and would use them again in a second.

They showed up on time, started work immediately and completed work in a timely manner. All of the old fence boards and posts were hauled away, they left work areas in good condition. They were very polite and professional, and left the work areas clean from debris. I really appreciated Meza's Fence allowing each neighbor to pay their portion of the fence repair directly to Meza's, I didn't have to pay full bill up front and collect back from the neighbors. I only have one small issue. On closer inspection shortly after they left, I noticed a few of the new 1x8x5 boards running along top of kickboard were broken. Instead of discarding and using a single board in good condition, they used the broken boards and nailed in the two broken pieces.

Unfortunately, we never heard back from Mezas with a quote following the initial meeting. Nothing. I emailed with some information I promised I would send immediately, but never heard back. Just too busy to take on a smaller project? We'll never know, but it would have been professional of them to let us know if that was the case.

They came in lower in price than others. They arrived on time for both giving the quote and doing the work. They seemed knowledgable. Provided quality service and a good end product.

I haven't gone through with the project. The quote was $5700. I probably won't use them because I found that their pricing a little on the high side. Also, I didn't feel as comfortable with the work that they were going to do compared to some of the other people that I interviewed with. Things like expanding the job they were going to do and the details of how they were going to replace my fence.

After making an appt for estimate twice, no one ever came by!
