Lowe's

I went to get a water softener. Paid more than $3000 for softener and install. They subcontracted the install. First time, no one showed up. Second, person showed up, did an estimate, but would not give me an actual price, saying Lowes would have to do that. Then I hear nothing from Lowes for months. Finally get tired of this and go back in person. They apologize and refund my money. Then, I pay a second time for estimate, about $65 (don't recall exact amount). Subcontractor shows up, does estimate, but as he is leaving tells me I am much better off just hiring a plumber directly. General waste of time and about $65.

It's been months. They called a lot, they called periodically and then it sort of died and I have to go to Lowes and see what gives, how come this has not been installed. They have made attempts to call here and there but it's been months and hasn't been installed and no one has followed up with me in 3 or 4 weeks that's kind of annoying. Sales person was fine just a little pushy. They have gone through a couple of sub contractors.

He was untimely. He called and said he wasn't gonna be able to make it that morning. I called him and he hadn't even planned on coming out even though we had an appointment. I told him that I do need him to come out today and then he came out. I did not get a quote from him. He did all the measurements. He wasn't a salesman which was good or bad but he wasn't attentive, too. He seems preoccupied. It made the decision whether or not I'm gonna go with Lowe's. I didn't have a good flavor with Lowe's because of this. I had to yank cords to have him come out even though we had a scheduled appointment that I had booked a couple of weeks before.

It is OK. It's clean. The staff is OK. Their prices are a little higher than other places. Their responsiveness is good.

The floor looks good. We did have some problems with the subcontractor that works under Lowe's. They cracked some of the tiles in the entryway and we had some problems getting them to come back and fix it. Lowe's was helpful throughout the whole thing. I can't say anything bad about Lowe's.

I didn't really find value for money in what Lowe's did, especially in the specific service. After I saw the work after what they came and did, I basically paid them $45 for maybe 30 seconds of work at my house. They had to come out with a measuring tape. After all that, making the detailing appointment and waiting for the guy to turn up, it turned out that the oven that I wanted had to be special ordered and so I had to wait an additional 15 days. That was pretty disappointing because I was ready to give them my money and they didn't have the item in stock, and there didn't seem to be any way that they could get me what I wanted sooner. Eventually I went somewhere else and did not give them my business.

They have a better selection that some other big box stores. The service, the pricing and the selection is good. Their staff is better than another big box store. I go there when I am in the area because it is a ways away from me.

We felt the sales people in the store were really great. They answered all of our questions, and helped us with things. The installers were accommodating. They were on time, reliable, and they did a nice job. Lowes came our better in price, than the other estimates. We went with a little lower in quality, to get what we needed. I would absolutely use Lowes again

We chose to go with them because they were installing it for free. We had another company come out; they were knowledgeable except that for installation it was more than a $1000. They were great. We thought they might not be good but they were fantastic. They called ahead of time and called afterwards to see if we were happy. Our overall experience with them has been good.

My husband always checks consumer reports for all types of appliances and we had decided pretty much what we wanted. We wanted the GE model with the induction capabilities and because their prices were a little on the higher on the stove top and ovens. We also sneaked into their showroom and took a look at their prices and we saw that they were having a 20% off, so we decided to buy it locally. We also asked them about other things like countertops and they were very good to email another company and they shipped us some sample pieces. I would use Lowe’s again if there is a sale.
