Dave Hester himself came out to bid the job. He came off like an old pro and I appreciated his soft-spoken, low-key approach. Unlike another vendor who bid the job, he didn't try to hard-sell the top of the line furnace, but rather took me through my options, gave me the pros and cons of each and let me decide. He provided his bid on the spot and let me know of his near-term availability, essentially providing all the info I needed to make the buy decision. His team came in for the install and was very professional. I was impressed with how they went about their work and cleaned up after themselves each day. I worked at home the first day just to make sure all was in order and they didn't run into any snags. Their professionalism gave me the piece of mind to leave them alone on the job for the remainder of the job. The job took 3.5 days. The furnace works great.

They determined that the furnace was fine; apparently the interlock switch had somehow gotten turned off, possibly because the access panel was not on snugly. They didn't have to do any repairs.

Dave Kester came to our home and gave us excellent, detailed information on the items we were purchasing and their installation. The service technicians arrived promptly in the morning and worked into the late afternoon without a break. They did an excellent job, leaving the work site clean and orderly. We would certainly recommend Kesters to our friends and family.

Dave was very responsive & prompt. He was able to ascertain the problem very quickly and told us up-front what the different options were. He told us that he would try to fix it with the cheapest solution first, but that it may involve a furnace replacement if that didn't work. Luckily, he was able to fix the problem -- and our renters were only without the furnace for a day or two.

Our entire experience went well. We originally wanted to install a new furnance and a/c in the attic to replace our 16 year old furnance located in the hallway closet. We called several heating contractors and recieved bids and advice. Dave Kester impressed us as knowledgeable, low key, and very easy to work with. He gave us a comprensive bid to to install the new equipment, but also advised us that we could probably get another 5 years out of our current furnace and could get by for now with a thorough cleaning and a filter cabinet which holds the filter in place (which was currently flopping around in the air intake chamber). After giving it some thought, we opted to clean the current furnace to get us through the winter and give us more time to think about the larger project (where to put the a/c condenser and how we might remodel the attic for storage, etc). Dave put no pressure on us to do the larger job. His crew arrived on time and were polite and professional, and even offered to replace all of the heater vents at their cost (I guess the old ones looked pretty pathetic). We did not ask for this, Dave just offered it as an additional customer service! When I came home from work and inspected the job, I could not have been more pleased. I was impressed by the quality of their work and how clean the furnace closet was. They even wrapped the exposed fiberglass insulation in the furance closet with protective aluminum tape so that the fibers would not find their way into the air supply. Again, we did not have to ask for this, they just did it as part of their normal quality workmanship. The old furnace is working great and my sinuses are no longer welling up when we turn the furnace on. We could not be more pleased with the end results, the extras they threw in, and the improvement in our air quality. There is no doubt who we will be calling when we are ready to upgrade our furnace and install the new a/c unit. BTW, we originally found Kester Heating & Cooling on Yelp.com where they received numerous 4 or 5 star reviews.

Dave was professional and came out and gave a quote. They came in with the best quote (they were running a $600 off sale at the time) of the two quotes we got. When we hired them, the crew arrived on the scheduled day and did a professional job. It took them about 3 days to complete the job. We had them install the furnace in the attic and they did a nice solid install (according to the PG&E inspector). When the new vents only came in white (and we really wanted brown to match the wood panelling) the crew went and bought brown paint and spray painted them for us. We're happy with the work and haven't had any problems. We would definitely hire them again.

We knew our heater hadn't been working, and decided to use our wood stove to heat our home. After returning from a vacation during a cold spell, we were able to see our breath in the house! We called Dave and thankfully he was close and had time to squeeze us in. He came over and was able to quickly and easily diagnose the problem. He even had the part on his van. The whole process took less than 30 minutes. Dave was friendly and careful in our home. I would definitely call Switzerland Air for any other HVAC issues. My parents have also used his company to install air conditioning in their whole house, and extend the heating in their addition.

This company was fantastic. We were having the furnace and all the ducting replaced, so the work took approx. 6-7 days. We were happy that they made sure we had the heat back on every night. The workmen were very professional.

They did a great job, & were very clean & tidy. They cleaned up after themselves. They're very responsive, easy to get ahold of, & have great customer service. They were on time & we would definitely recommend them. They were great & did a great job for us.
