I am super pleased with Jones Masonry! They did a spectacular job of repairing leaks near my two chimneys on a 1930s home. This home is so old, the gutters are made of redwood, no kidding. They were able to fix some significant cracks in my stucco at the same time, and replace one of my spark arrestors. I got a complete estimate on the sport with the inspection. On the day of repairs, they were on time (early, but waited before ringing my bell, thanks!) got it done quickly and showed me in detail what they had done. I am very happy with them and highly recommend them to others.

Bob and Francisco were wonderful in every respect! They are true craftsmen, and they were a pleasure to have in my home. The fireplace is beautiful.

Large bricked area of front steps and porch sank due to lack of dirt compacting when house was built. This necessitated redoing area of steps and entire front patio. Jones is an accomplished craftsman originally from Vermont. I recommend him highly.

When the job was done and the tile/grout dried, myself and several others noticed how the tile was not flat, level or straight. The marble on the hearth had been damaged as well during the installation. Greg was willing to have the marble polished, but the mosaic tile was so badly installed, it all had to be replaced. Greg did refund my money and asked me to find someone else to install the tile. I was very stressed and upset over the ordeal, but ended up finding someone who was very knowledgeable about tile and did a beautiful job. I had checked Greg's references and his license beforehand - everything checked out. However, what I realized later is that he is a licensed Mason not a licensed Tile installer - there is a huge difference (which I didn't know at the time). He did not prepare the surface of the fireplace well which resulted in the poor quality of the tile installation.

Greg Jones to the rescue. I originally went with another mason, however after a few days on the job, I was very unsatisfied with this other individual's work ethic and professionalism and had no confidence in our timeline. Then I called Jones Masonry...
This was a large, labor intensive job requiring the highest level of skills for general masonry work ( approx 1200 square feet of patio space and walkways, with significant elevation changes and steps, a complete stone and brick oven (not an insert); a full pizza oven, extensive walls and stone veneer on the house). Before Greg Jones (owner) showed up he worked with me on my plans and we cultivated a solid working relationship; he made sure he understood what I wanted. The next day and everyday thereafter he and his son Matt were on the job with 3-4 additional workers. He has completely changed the look and feel of our house giving us a home we can be proud of. Greg was very agreeable to employ any style we wanted (for us it was mainly a Mountain/Lake Tahoe feel). Greg, Matt, and crew were punctual and stood by their original bid, even when we encountered a few wrinkles that likely involved more cost and labor than they had originally anticipated.
Attitude- Great attitude; I had to balance several sub-contractors, crowded into a tight, muddy driveway. Greg and his crew never complained, just put their heads down and got the job done with smiles and a great attitude. We live in the Santa Cruz Mountains and many folks are disturbed by the drive, but it was never an issue for these guys.
Great crew of guys, I would use them again any day. Highly recommended.
Not sure if I can post pictures here, if not they'll be on Yelp or Houzz.

Come to find out, he was not licensed to do the HVAC and venting work. My roofer caught it when he came out to fix the shingles right around where the vent pipes were coming out of the roof. He put heating and air ducts on upside down. He then cut out pieces out of it to make it fit, even though it was upside down. Jones had to come out here 7 times. The workman they sent out let all of the debris fall down the chimney.

The person who came to give the quote was very professional, but, he also had a lot of pride and integrity in what he does. He was very clear about explaining everything that has to be done and why it needs to be done. I also had some extra masonry work to be done which they did to make the place look nice and they did a really nice job on that. After the work was finished, the owner came out to check the work. He did not allow us to pay, until he had checked all the work. He also found and fixed a few things. He was great; the company was great and the people who worked there were great. I felt the price was reasonable.
