Joe is a nice guy and the kind o guy you'd want to have as a neighbor. He does a good job with a knock down texture on the ceiling but i don't think I'd hire him again to do any kind of significant repair work. A portion of our downstairs ceiling needed to be replaced due to a toilet that overflowed. Joe gave a high estimate of $1800, but the guy I wanted to use couldn't get started for two weeks. Joe knocked his bid down to $1500 and started the next day. Fairly on time and punctual, he did a good job of covering everything and getting the 4x8 hole patched and the seams all retaped. After this point, it seemed to take forever. At every point it seemed as if I had to point out issues with the new patches and his constant reply was, "You won't be able to even see it when....it's all floated...when it's textured...when it's painted." At the end I paid him $1100 and told him that if I wanted to see the patch I could have done it myself. He did agree that it wasn't the best job and said that it was the first time it had ever happened. Joe's probably good and putting up new drywall or replacing entire walls or ceilings, but this was a bit above his skill set. (Even with me telling him what he needed to do to make it better along the way!) Job did not include painting. NOTE: Joe is NOT a licensed contractor regardless of what his Angie's List listing says.
Also, his friend, Pedro, did the painting work that needed to be done downstairs. He did an okay job, but not a professional job. Nice job painting the crown and baseboards, but a a marginal job on the walls. And he doesn't like it when you point out the fact that he missed areas all together. Additionally, Pedro may tell you he can install baseboards. Don't use him. He doesn't listen and wants to do it his way and then gets pissy when you call him on it. I'm having another guy finish the work and will be paying Pedro only a portion of our agreed upon price because now I have to have the entire upstairs stairwell and landing painted.

Joe showed up when he said he would and was ready to work. He said it would take 2 days and his estimate was right on. A good overall experience and I would definitely use him again.

We were very happy with them. That particular aspect of the job went really well. We added on some work that they probably aren't qualified to do.

He was willing to work with me and talk to me about what I wanted to do and make sure it was done the way I wanted. I think that he is easy- going and does what the customer wants. I feel comfortable using him again.

He showed up as promised and did a very efficient job in removing the popcorn and cleaning up each day so my house was not messy. He worked by himself and each room took four days to complete. One day to remove the existing popcorn, one day to resurface, one day to dry, and one day to paint. He was efficient and kept to the schedule he promised. He charged me $500/room ($1,500) to remove and resurface the ceilings and another $500 to repaint all three ceilings. I felt the painting charge was a little high and he did not do that good of a job repainting. He left me with the task of pulling of the trim tape and when I did some paint came off the ceiling and I had to do a lot of touch up work. That being said I would absolutely use him again for the popcorn removal and resurfacing. Probably would choose to do my own painting if I were faced with the same situation again.

He did some painting but his major work was a drywall. He mudded and textured the kitchen, the dining room, entry and a hall. He was very personable. He was very punctual. He did a good job. If there was a problem he will come back and fix it. Once there was a crack. It was probably not his fault but he came back and fixed it. We were very pleased with his work. He was very easy going. It was easy to communicate with him. He did clean up after himself but I helped him because I wanted the job to be done faster. We highly recommend him to other people.

He did some drywall work in the kitchen and removed popcorn ceilings. Did some painting as well. But as my project got nearing to getting done and Joe's work was most needed, he started over committing at other places and wouldn't come when he promised to. I would keep waiting for him. Then he would reschedule, wasn't even apologetic while I took off from work and was waiting for him. Again wouldn't show up. I had to let him go and find another painter. His work is average but the problems he causes by not showing up and being unprofessional isn't worth it even if he gives you a good deal, his pricing was good but not great for me.

Had some scheduling issues.. Joe tends to over communicate (which i guess is a lot better than undercommunicating).. so he will call you to confirm that he is coming the day before.. make sure to call him back (i did not).. and thus we missed a date and had to re-schedule He came and looked at the place and quoted 200 for the smoothing of texture and another 150.00 to paint.. once he came i mentioned to him that i needed him to do the ceiling as well.. he then asked for another 50.00 which i was fine with.. (total 400.00).. During the job I realized that i did not have the ceiling paint.. i asked him to get me an additional can of paint for the ceiling which he gladly did.. At the end i gave him 450.00 bucks for the work and the paint.. he was super prompt.. busted his b***.. and overall did a GREAT job.. I would definitly recommend for any of your drywall needs.. finding guys like this are why i am willing to pay the fee to stay on angies list.. I don't think i would have found him otherwise..

Joe came to do the estimate the same day I called him, and started 2 days later. He covered up our new hardwood flooring, and crown moulding, and padded the legs of his ladders - there's not a scratch anywhere! Joe was on time every day and what I really appreciated was that he explained to me every step he was taking. I have done some drywall myself but I felt I needed a real pro to get my living room (with lots of day light exposure) done just right. So in the beginning I was watching carefully what he was going to do and how, and I must say I'm glad I hired Joe and not some random other company!!

End product is high quality. I was concerned that Joe didn't give me a written estimate or contract, but he stuck to the price he quoted me even though I think the job took longer than he expected. He also brought in extra help and worked on Sunday to finish the job on schedule.

Initially, called Joe to come by for an estimate, which he did 3 or 4 days after I called. Not knowing exactly what was the cause of the sagging plaster was (water leak or poor mudding job), he gave two estimates. I definitely felt Joe was honest and wasn't giving me high, lofty estimates. So I scheduled for him to came back. After a couple of reschedules, he came by to do the work and found that the patch job was the simpler of the two estimates. He went right to work and did a great job and was very particular about the workmanship. He was very eager to answer my questions about the whole process and share his knowledge about his work and job as if he was teaching me how to drywall. If I had questions about the work he was doing or thoughts about whether something was still off, he wasn't offended, in fact, he reworked it again to get it right. He was very respectful about trying to keep the room clean; he took his shoes off before entering our house and he brought his own drop cloth. I felt he repaired the ceiling in a very professional manner and he matched the texture of the ceiling very well. Joe is old school in many ways, which I like a lot. He works by himself, doesn't have GPS or a laptop computer, and accepts a handshake instead of a contract. This may cause some scheduling mix-ups or delays, which is not a sign of disrespect, but it did have me slip the responsiveness grade to "B". Understand that he is usually on the job when he gets calls, so it's difficult for him to manage a lot of schedules. However, by far the most important thing is the quality of the work. It's all about the work for Joe, and it's clear that he takes pride in doing a good job, not just doing a job.

We are still going to need Joe to complete the drywall in our kitchen, laundry room and garage. He is also going to texture the rest of our house to match. I will let you know when he completes that, but he has been easy to work with to this point and I would recommend him to others.

Joe did a great job. He repaired two damaged areas and re-textured to match the existing texture. He was prompt, courteous and patient with my kids' questions. I would definitely hire him again.

Excellent--Joe needed to spread out the job over several days (due to drying times), but was always flexible, responsive and prompt. His work was excellent, and reflects a true craftsman who is cursed with also being a perfectionist! ;-) Very pleased.

I was told by other contractors that the seams wouldn't look very good because of uneven drywall, but Joe did an excellent job. I'm quite the perfectionist and rarely do contractors meet my standards which is why I generally do the work myself. But Joe's standards were up there and I'd hire him again for any future drywall work I have. And a comment for that review complaining about him not having a pen to write down a phone number, that reviewer is a complete IDIOT! Your calling a contractor in the middle of the day, of course they are working and in the middle of mudding a seam. That reviewer is a whack job. A very unfair review and should be thrown out.

They did a pretty good job on the cracks. They were very courteous and professional while in my home. They were not late at all. They had told us that they would be here at 8:30 am and they showed up at 8:05 am. That was a bit challenging I guess. Their price also seemed a little high for the amount of work that they did but I guess it was about average.

Joe was very professional and committed. He continued his work on the project even while his mother was in hospital, always keeping us informed about his schedule. His work was of high quality and he held himself to a higher standard than we did. He did not hesitate to invest additional time to deliver excellent results. He was always courteous, pleasant, and up-front in his interactions. His charges were reasonable and fair.

EXCELLENT! Was always prompt and on time, if not 15 minutes early. Did extra work at no charge and pointed out additional repairs that needed to be made with no worries. Highly recommended and I would use him again.
