JOE'S APPLIANCE

He did a good job but the prices were a little high.

I found his number in the yellow pages cause he was listed in the 10% off coupons section. I called him up and told him about the grinding noise and he quoted a price of $169 (less coupon). I thought it was a little steep, but I needed to get it fixed today. So he says he will be out between 10 and 12. 12 o'clock shows and no Joe. So I call him at 12:10 and he says that he'll be there in an hour. He's there by 1, has the washer apart by 1:05, has the washer put back together (after showing me the problem) by 1:15. He replaced a $15 molded piece of plastic and charged me $165 for it. It was the price he quoted me over the phone, but geez. $150 worth of labor for 15 min of work? The work was fast even though he was late, but the price still remains a sore spot.

One man operation. Very courteous and knowledgeable. Would definitely have him come to my home again.

Joe said he would be here before noon and he was here at 11am. He looked things over and determined the part that was bad was the timer. Before letting me know which part was bad he had already called to see if the part was in stock, and it was. He asked if I would like him to order the part, I said yes and he was back the next day to fix it.
