Solomon asked for a very large down payment $24000 instead of the 10% or $1000 recommended by the State Licensing Board. We foolishly paid. Solomon continuously came to us requesting more money despite the fact that things were not being finished. The state licensing board suggests paying for items as they are completed.
We asked that everything be permitted but no permits were applied for.
The stonework looks absolutely beautiful. The guys working for Solomon worked hard and did a nice job but...
- The outdoor kitchen was framed with wood, a flammable material
- The patio was built up against the house and blocks the stucco creed so the house does not breath. According to another contractor this could lead to mold or dry rot problems.
- The patio pools water in a few places. Another contractor suggested that any patio of this size should have drains placed evenly. The patio Good Earth Landscape build relies on the water sheeting off.
- The sink drainage was piped in to existing drainage that goes to the street, not the sewer. We can not put anything down the drain.
- The outdoor kitchen leaks water. No effort was made to seal space between the kitchen inserts and the stone.
