Arturo was the estimator and he showed up on time. His workers also showed up on the day the work was performed. It was a one day job. One hour into the job, they broke a sprinkler pipe and we had a heck of a time trying to locate the shutoff valve. They fixed the pipe and put the fence up. It looks great now.

The work was done on schedule, professionally, with good quality. However one part of the fence replacement was not done exactly as the picture on which the estimate/cost was based. I phoned to ask whether the difference could be resolved, but they didn't call back even though I phoned several times. I also phoned because I now have additional repair work to be done but again they did not call back. I would be willing to hire them again but I can't if they won't call me back.

It went well. Arturo came out to assess the job (15 minutes earlier than expected) and promptly provided me with a written estimate. He was professional, polite, and seemed to know what he was talking about. His was the third bid that I got and was 30% - 50% cheaper. I awarded his company with the job. His team of two showed up on the scheduled date, on time and worked efficiently as well as effectively . They were done by 1pm, left the job site clean and were careful not to damage any of my or my neighbors plants. Job well done!

They were thorough in their estimate, helpful in determining the appropriate gate, did a nice job cleaning up, and the fence looks great.

Golden Gate Fence Inc replaced eight posts in the fence and our neighbor and I shared the cost. They also put the two gates in. They were quick and they were friendly. The gates are fine. He gave my neighbor an alternate solution. Instead of replacing a whole side fence, we just replaced the posts that were broken. I appreciate that he gave that option. They used dry cement and poured water on it instead of using wet cement and I'm a bit concerned about that. I don't know how soon that would have to be replaced.

I interviewed 3 companies from Angie's list. All three were prompt, professional and gave me good estimates. I chose Golden Gate because Arturo Alvarez came out within a day of my call, immediately knew what needed to be done and explained it all to me. I felt very confident that the work would be done as I requested. The Golden Gate bid came in the lowest, so I selected them as my contractor. The two workmen came within a day, were very fast and professional. They obviously have been well trained. I am very pleased with my new fence, and would recommend this company to any one.

The first time I called Golden Gate, I didn't get a phone call back. I called once more and this time they did call back. He apologized for not calling me back the first time. After that, everything went smoothly with them. They scheduled an appt to come give an estimate, were on time to do the actual work, and their price was right in the ballpark with other bids we received. The main reason we chose them over another fence company was because of their 10 yr warranty, which was 5 years longer than the other companies.
The gentlemen who came out to do the work were professional and worked all day to finish the fences. I never saw them take a break. It has only been a day, but the fences look good and hopefully they were built to last.

We wanted the old fence post concrete footings dug out so the new posts could be spaced evenly. After the fence and concrete removal, we wanted to wait a week to backfill the holes somewhat so there wouldn't need to be extra-large clumps of concrete in the garden. The company was very cooperative, and we thought the upcharge ($125, included in the total) for the second day of work and concrete removal was reasonable. The workers were very competent and polite, brought the correct grade of wood (no knots), reinforced everything, and crowned the cement around the new posts so they will resist rotting. Our old fence had buried cement footings which looked neat but are not durable. The footings need to be crowned to direct water away from the posts so they will last longer. Also, the workers made the fence level on top which we had requested because our old fence had followed the ground contour and just looked messy. The new gate hardware is solid and works smoothly. The workers cleaned up the site very well. We love our new fence. Thanks, Golden Gate!

Very impressed with the estimator Arturo. He was prompt, understood pretty quickly what our requirements were, and explained how they'd get accomplished. Of three fence companies who provided estimates, Golden Gate's price was a lot less than one company and about the same as a company whose estimate was incomplete and didn't return my phone call. The work started promptly on the day scheduled and was completed in 2 days. The foreman, Francisco was easy to talk to and Arturo even came back to check on how it was going. The fence and gates look great. Would definitely recommend this company to others and so would my neighbor.

Great experience. They were the best price. Prompt response. We delayed calling them for a month or so as we were sorting it out with the neighbors and HOA. But when we called them, they were there the next day and done with 110 ft of fence in 2 days (probably more as they replaced our neighbors shared fence that I did not share). As a bonus they installed a new gate with latch for $200

Everything went absolutely great. Their prices are good, they did it exactly when they said they would, and kept us up to date down to an hour of when they were going to be here. They gave us, since we were splitting the bills with neighbors, multiple bills so we could split up the cost with them. I will definitely be using them again if I ever need a fence.

The fence was much better than I expected. Six foot boards but a seven foot fence using a one foot wide horizontal base board. The wide base board will keep the fence boards out of dirt so they should last longer. Completed the work in about 6 hours. Cleaned up well. I had asked them to leave a few of the best boards from the old fence so I could use them for repairs on my other fences but they left five new boards instead. Gratis. The fence looks great and feels solid. I have no complaints and would go to them next time I need a fence.

We actually received an estimate for the fence 6 months before it ended up being fixed (for a variety of reasons). On Oleg's initial visit for the estimate, he was prompt, friendly, and honest. I walked him through what we needed, and while I asked him questions about fence repair he drew up the estimate. I was amazed that he could give me something in such a quick amount of time, but it was detailed and reasonable. During the 6 months when were not repairing our fence, Oleg was extremely helpful and ridiculously friendly in talking with us about our different options for repairing the fence, including giving us different estimates based on what sized posts could be used. When we were finally ready to get the fence fixed, we called them and they remembered us. After I gave him the contact information for the neighbors sharing the cost (and he had contacted them), we were able to quickly schedule a date. The job ended up taking more than a day. I was a little surprised that they left after the first day without updating me on their progress and telling me when they would be back, but they showed up early the next morning ready to finish the job.

Estimator was easy to talk to and gave some helpful advice about the gate and explained up front the type of supplies that would be used and the differences between construction heart and construction common redwood. He also was helpful in giving me info about a dig hotline to contact for getting the planned digging area checked by utility companies. He was clear about the pricing and the price was reasonable and in line with a few other estimates I received. I appreciated the fact that they would take on a smaller job. Scheduling was easy and the 2 person crew showed up on time and worked diligently to do the job. I checked the work a few times as it progressed and they answered my questions when asked. Overall I am happy with the work and also with the quality of the boards used for the fence slats and the quality of the hardware. But a few parts of the job I question now and wished I would have asked about while the job was happening. (1) the part of the fence that connected to garage stucco wall I expected to be anchored into the wall with some sort of screws or bolts because that's how the old fence was secured to the wall. But it looks like it was just nailed into the stucco. They did put aluminum flashing between the wall and that board, so that's great. I wonder if the nails might work loose over time from the stucco. (2) Only other thing I question is the way the cement was put in around the posts. The post holes were dug deep, to the full 2ft expected. I thought the quick-set cement would be pre-mixed outside the holes, like in a wheel barrow, and then dumped wet into the holes and around the posts. That wasn't the case. The posts were set into the holes and the dry mix was dumped in around the posts. Some old broken up cement from the old posts was also stacked in around at least one of the posts to help refill the dug out area. Then the rest of the fence was built, and at the very end of the project a hose was used to wet the area around the new posts. If that's an accepted construction practice, then ok. I just thought the cement would have been mixed first and poured in while wet to make sure it fully surrounded and protected the posts. The cement is also flush with the ground whereas I thought it would be mounded up around the post a bit to promote water drainage away from posts. It's been a few weeks, and the posts are still solid. The company does offer a long term warranty on their work, so that makes me feel better about the 2 items I described above if something does happen to the posts in the future. The company also said to call me if over time the gate or its hardware ever needs adjusting.
