July 2019-, I was doing a garage conversion and I hired them to do a smooth coat, one color epoxy on my garage floor. This is a 3-day process. The doorway entrance was temporarily covered with plywood until the exterior door was installed. After day 1, they said they were going to leave the plywood off of the doorway so the floor could dry overnight. The next morning, there were hundreds of bugs stuck to the top of the floor. I addressed this with Epoxy Foxy, and they had no remedy to prevent the bugs from entering the room during the install. I spent hours the 2nd day drawing the bugs inside my house from the garage and then vacuumed them up with a vacuum cleaner. After the 3rd day, there was a large bug and several small bugs and debris stuck in the top of the floor. Epoxy Foxy told me the only way to repair a smooth floor is to do another coat. They were not willing to do another coat, so they encouraged me to keep it like this. They were willing to come out to fix the floor by scraping out the bug and putting a dot of color on top of that area. But, they said it would show and did not recommend this. I offered feedback that they needed to have a solid bug plan when they do jobs, and they said they would think about it but that you cannot really prevent bugs from coming into a room. It is just what happens. I was left feeling as if this was either the first smooth floor they had done or that they really did not care about the quality of their work. In addition, there is still quite a bit of off gas from the epoxy after a few weeks of the job being completed. I am just hoping it does not make us feel sick once the garage conversion is actually complete. 1/21/20 Update-I later learned that something went wrong with the install. Water has been seeping into the top layer of epoxy and leaving a lighter stain in the top coat. Also, the floor is now bubbling. There were many more bugs, pebbles and pine needles in the layers that I originally realized, and the floor is now chipping due to the uneven texture in the top layer. Finally, they did not use or even recommend a water based epoxy, which has no formaldehyde. The VOC emission was so bad that we could not use the room for 6 months. The smell made my entire family sick with headaches, eye burning and nausea. Roberto, the owner of Epoxy Foxy, has been totally unwilling to repair the floor or refund my money.
