Edesa Landscaping

I was recommended to them by a friend. Easy to negotiate price and was reasonable on the price. Delayed start date due to Bobcat driver out of town, did not want landscaping done while inspector is there, the usual stall tactics. I indicated to him that we could start landscaping on Tuesday and he showed up with drywall. My mistake for not insisting on the contract up front, one is only required before the start of work. I insisted on a contract, and asked him for his contractor's number. In hindsight I did not ask him for his contractors number up front, however he showed me pics of large jobs that required a contractors license. He gave me a contractors number that was not related to his business and when I asked him to put it in the contract, he indicated that the job would be 15-20% more if I required a number. I also made the mistake of fronting some of the materials in which re refunded a portion and indicated the balance is at the supplier and if I wanted I could go and pick it up. To date, no paperwork for the material was provided. However he did refund me the difference in a cashiers check.

What I liked most aside from the price, which was very fair compared to the other quotes I received, is that the owner was VERY responsive. I could always reach him, he would be at the job site everyday, maybe not for the whole time while his crew was there but he made sure they knew what they needed to do and what was expected. He was also able to start the job relatively quickly once I made a decision. My new sod is establishing really well and the previous sod he laid down is perfect now. The irrigation system works perfectly, he programmed the timer and the crew cleaned up after themselves. I'm a happy camper.
