Excellent communication regarding how I used my back yard and what I wanted.  Deva really listened.  She gave specific options when appropriate.  Lisa implemented the design.  Terrific attention to details. The entire experience was positive, which I super appreciated!!   My yard looks great over a year later.  I definitely recommend EarthCare.

Start to finish I have nothing negative to say about Earth Care Landscaping!  
Deva Luna met with us and made the blueprints for the yard; she did a wonderful job of incorporating what my husband and I both wanted, which was in some cases not the same.  Lisa came out and made sure everything was moving forward nicely, and she was extremely responsive when issues came up.  The job foreman speaks English, which is a plus in terms of his understanding of what I was trying to tell him (unfortunately I do not speak Spanish).
We had to wait a while between the drawing up of the plans, and getting the work done, since they are so popular.  It was really well worth the wait.  The front yard is gorgeous, with all kinds of plants blooming for lengthy periods.   The stonework they did is also gorgeous. The yard turned out beyond my wildest expectations, I get pleasure from it every single morning when I leave the house.  I would definitely use Earth Care again.

I was on a wait list for my front yard to be done and it was well worth the wait.  The crew took a bit longer than expected to completed the project.  The delay was due to the fact that I had some bermuda grass that needed extra removal efforts.  This did not change the price quoted to me.  
Everyone at Earthcare is very professional.  I worked with Lisa who communicates very well.  She let me know the challenges that came up and resolved them very professionally.  For example, I do not have any power outlets on the outside of my house.  Lisa was fine with this and opted to use generators instead.  
This company went out of their way to be very accommodating.  They are truly lovely to work with.  I will certainly use them when I have my backyard done.

I have nothing but good things to say about Earthcare.
Deva provided a design that I absolutely loved but couldn't quite afford. She willingly redesigned the back yard, meeting my budget requirements as well as meeting all my "wishes" throughout the yard: low water, easy maintenance, edible plants, bright colors, attraction for hummingbirds and butterflies, room for a vegetable garden, etc. She recommend installing an arbor, which I had never considered, but I love it and the swing hanging there where I have spent many relaxing hours. She is a delight to work with.
I was pleased with all stages of the process. Deva and Ryan, the owner, are personable and customer oriented. The job took about the amount of time I was promised. One of the two (or later on the project manager) stopped by each day to check on the work being done. Any attempt to contact either of them got an immediate and satisfactory response. This "checking" process continued weekly for some time after the job was completed to ensure that the plants were thriving and the watering system was working properly. They will be back briefly in December to plant the dwarf persimmon I wanted, which needs to be bare root and was not available in the summer. I am also considering hiring their crew for occasional trimming and maintenance.

The work took approximately 7-10 days to complete.  The workers were prompt, arriving each day before 7:00 a.m. to start work.  Delivery of materials was staggered with the approximate material delivered a day or two prior to their installation. The project manager, Lisa  visited regularly and was always available via email or cell phone to discuss the project and answer questions. The contract document covers everything you need to know about the work.  NFY kept the area around our home clean always sweeping up at the end of each day, and safely storing materials.  The quality of the work is outstanding, the professionalism and skill of the workers unquestionable.  The flagstone was meticulously laid and when the heavy rains washed out much of the grouting, NFY workers returned to re-grout the pathway.
We are very happy with the end result, and expect to get our rebate soon. We also expect to see lower cost on our monthly water bill.  Our motivation was to save on water use and we will, but got an absolute beautiful front yard, adding much curb appeal to our home.

We wanted to find one company that would design and install a native
California garden in front yard and lay down a new driveway. Earthcare
was the ticket.  We have a very long driveway and Ryan, the owner, met
with us several times. We reused tile from our old porch to make a diamond design in a pervious concrete driveway. The other half of our very long driveway was done in pavers. We were extremely happy with the result. His team came out and fixed some of the concrete faux pas (bound to happen) the week after the pour.  The front yard was done completely in native CA plants. We met with Lisa about 3-4 times to get it right  before the install. She was very responsive and upfront with costs.  We  told her we wanted to maintain the garden ourselves once it was installed and she gave us very specific instructions on each plant and
the drip watering.  When I had difficulty, I called the co. and someone  got back to me within days. This was after all the work was completed and we had paid our bill.  They also have a garden service to maintain the yard.
The only thing I would warn you about is the time it took to install  everything. We first met with them in May 2011, but work didn't start
until late Sept.- early Oct. 2011.  I think they are very busy, small company and want to make sure everything is done right. If you are not  in a hurry to have the work done, I highly recommend EarthCare  Landscaping.

Ryan and the crew of Earthcare have helped us install a huge boulder (1.7 tons) and several large boulders, they removed excess soil, and they helped sculpt other soil.  They also installed a bamboo barrier.
Ryan and all of his crew are easy to work with, knowledgeable, and cheerful.  Their rates are reasonable.  They are my go-to outfit for landscaping work.

They put in a water conserving landscape to replace our front lawn.  It is all native plants with drip system to provide them with water as needed.  We are absolutely happy with it.  The program is called "natural front yards".  The people were friendly and easy to work with, and did a quality job.  

In order to obtain the Santa Clara Water District Landscape Rebate, it was necessary for Earthcare and the Water District to communicate. I originally contacted Earthcare in July, but because the Rebate program was new, the Water District didn't finalize rules for its program until the 3rd week of August. These rules stated that the homeowner must submit a list of plants along with a design and an estimated coverage per plant of the yard to the Water District, and then must wait for the District to issue a Notice to Proceed before starting work. Obviously since Earthcare, as part of their Natural Front Yard program, was picking the plants and making the design, I needed them to either submit everything to me before they started work, so I could submit it to the Water District, or to contact the Water District directly to work out a compromise with the District that the District would accept. I called both the Water District and Earthcare repeatedly, over a period of about 3 weeks (very frustrating!), but it wasn't until I mentioned that I intended to write about my experience on Angie's List that Earthcare sprang into action and contacted the Water District. Then things went much more smoothly. (Bonus points for Angie's List!) When Earthcare did start the work, they finished the entire project in 4 days (!), and at the end of those 4 days, the yard looked great. Part of the contract includes care of the yard for 1 year, so I won't be able to fully comment on the project until the end of October 2011. Then I will be able to write about their landscape care. But our family is extremely pleased with the new look for our yard, and the neighbors have also said good things about the yard.

They did the complete landscaping work for me at one point of time. They do quarterly maintenance work now. I will continue to use their services until I find a better company.

Earthcare inspected the site (took a couple of reminders), gave us two options, and we chose the lower priced option. No pressure at all. They scheduled the job, they prepared for the job, they were on site on time, and did the work on time with good quality. A pleasure to work with. They are very knowledgeable about sustainable landscaping practices, and are thoroughly professional in their conduct. I recommend them without reservations.

Fantastic - planning was meticulous and they worked with us and our desires for the new backyard. Work was fast, clean and very very well done.

I've been using Earth Care for 12 years and they do a great job fertilizing, seeding the lawn, planting bushes, pruning the trees, and mowing the lawn. I would recommend them highly because they're a very reputable company that's professional, caring, and reliable. Our yard has looked incredible for 12 years. I would not think of using anyone else.

THEY ARE ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY AND KNOW PLANTS VERY WELL. WE NEEDED TO REPAIR SOME IRRIGATION PIPES AND OUTDOOR LIGHTS LATER ON AND THEY WERE ALWAYS VERY RESPONSIBLE.
