Had my exterior auto detail shop painted. They were “Johnny on the spot” when it came to punctuality. Finished ahead of schedule and pricing seemed fair. Not the cheapest in town, but the quality and customer service exceeded my expectations.

I hired Chris and Cal Painting Plus to Paint intumescent paint on the ceiling beams and columns on a large commercial project. Chris was there personally every day to make sure the project was going well and was adequately staffed. We pushed very hard sometimes twelve hour days to meet a extremely tight schedule. Cal painting Plus not only completed the project but Chris Himself worked with the special inspector to insure proper converge. Cal painting Plus showed extreme professionalism and integrity on this project. I would highly recommend them for any commercial or residential project.

Chris Wegman was a well spoken and articulate salesman. His sub Sergio was very nice. The exterior painting job was done professionally except for the surface preparation step which was very bad. Prior to signing the contract, I stressed that the peeling of old paint must be scraped thoroughly. There was very little scraping and it was a huge disappointment to see they paint over the peeling old paint!!! To make matter worse, the washing of the surface was very bad... it was more like wetting the surface instead of washing! I voiced my concerns and Chris warned me that if I'm not happy then he would stop working and charge me for work already done. Wow! Clients like me always lose when contractors pull this kind of stunt. I would either get a mechanic lien or comply to the contractor demand for payment, and at this time the amount due is determine by the contractor alone!!! This is a battle that contractor always come out ahead. I reminded Chris that I did what he told me to do that is tell him any "concern I might have". He soften his tone and explain that he did not plan to give the house "a bath", and as far as scraping he would scrape a little more and also suggest applying a special coating to seal the peeling AT EXTRA CHARGE. I agreed to his proposal considering my situation. And sure enough he did what he said. His man did scrape "a little more". I still see plenty of peeling when they put on the special coating. I did not feel like continuing the conflict and except the fact that this paint job will last at least 5 year less than it should be. Before long, it will peel again since the good paint on top of troubling surface is a waste of engineering effort. My advice to owner: If your project has excessive peeling, write a contract so that you have an agreed exit strategy in case the preparation step is not satisfactory My advice to Chris: Do concern for your client's concern. I would be happy to pay extra for the scraping. The paint job cost thousands and a few buck for extra labor is a no brainer! But you were so concern about the bottom line! I feel it is a waste of good paint!

Excellent experience working with them. Daily walkthrough's were done to make sure all the work was done just the way I wanted, and everything was done in a very timely manor.

At the beginning Chris Wegman was very friendly and professional and eager to do the work, but as things progressed it seemed to me that the follow-through could have been better. He had only one painter doing the work and he first said there would be two, although the work was done in a timely manner. There was no furniture and they did not have to worry abut the carpet as we had new carpeting put in. There was some spray painting done and some paint got on our kitchen cabinets and range. The dining room sliding glass door and kitchen window had some paint film left on it. The follow through at the end was not as professional as I expected.

Cal Painting painted the exterior of the house and made sure I was happy with all the work before they left the job site.

Chris gave detailed description of job to be done. Crew of two worked hard and did thorough job. The work was completed on time in three days. They cleaned up area well. Chris came by at end of job to see if we were satisfied with paint job. He offers a 2 yr warranty should paint fail.

It was a pleasure to work with such professional people. The work was done thoroughly and completely on schedule.
