overall I like the design but the execution of the water system and follow up have been weak.
Description of Work
The design was perfect. The job was completed by the deadline. But the sprinkler system malfunctioned and many plants died. They came back out to fix but did not replace the plants. I have asked several times for the original receipts for the plants and they have not given them to me yet.

She is a landscape designer. Things turned out well. We still have almost all of the plants. Generally everything went very well. It took her a while to get everything together; she was working a couple of jobs at the time. She did a good job and she was always on time. She was here when she said she would be. She met the deadlines. She was kind of expensive. She was professional.
Description of Work
We used Botany of Design to draw up a plan for the front and back yards. They put stone in the back yard and got the plants from the nursery. She started in February and finished in August.

The work cost me around $8000. The price was reasonable. They didn?t do all the work. They did the design and some other people came out to do the actual work. They had good ideas. They really worked around with things that were already there. They were very respectful of the fact that I didn?t want the hardscaping done. They were just really good. They were professional without being stiff about it. I will definitely use them again in the future.

It was a very good experience. They came out and listened to our wishes and asked thorough questions about the yard. They came back with a design which we liked. They also broke the actual installation of the landscaping into phases so it is more manageable. They only drew the design and we are hoping to do the work in the future when our funds are available.

They really took the time to meet me and talk to me about what I wanted. They gave me a beautiful design. The plan was excellent and they also gave us a trusted list of suppliers and contractors. They listened to all my specifications and gave me great ideas also worked with me when I said no to some of the ideas. They weren t somebody trying to put their vision on me but really worked with me to figure out my vision. I think the price was very reasonable considering the fact that it included them coming out twice to meet with me, taking pictures of my backyard, taking the measurements and then giving out the actual plan.

Although I have not yet started on the construction phase of the project, I was extremely happy with the professional landscape plans that Botany came up with. They really listened to my requirements and style preferences during the consultation phase, and worked hard to create designs that also met budgetary and lifestyle needs. I would recommend them to anyone needing landscape design; they really listen to their clients, bring real expertise and creativity to the process, and are infinitely flexible and patient. A real pleasure to work with.
Description of Work
I had Botany of Design with their Sprouts program create garden designs for both my tiny back patio area and the small front yard. I felt hopeless about ever having living plant life in my puny pitiful back patio area that was mostly busted, cracked concrete with weeds poking out. Lisa and Alison were able to come up with a beautiful secret garden concept that included tropical/sub-tropical plants within a very functional hard scape design. For the front yard a southern exposure broiled by the sun most of the year I wanted California natives and Mediterranean plants that would be drought-tolerant and not rely on an extreme watering regime to look good. Again, the gals at Botany of Design were creative, providing ideas for the front yard that met my objectives and would provide real curbside appeal. Their work included professional landscape plans with a key to all plants required for the plan, as well as an extensive list of contractors and suppliers in the area.

I was very happy with the final outcome. They followed the final plan to my exact specifications and then some. It is quite amazing what you can do with a small space. There are no limitations that can be realized. I was very happy with their professionalism, promptness, and patience in helping me to decide on what would work best for our given area. In addition, the people they recommended to help with this whole project were very tidy and I certainly felt that I got my money's worth. They are just great!
Description of Work
Ms. Charpontier and her associate conducted a site analysis to see our existing garden conditions (which were not good). Everything was overgrown. They completed a layout for what they would be designing within the given space. They were very patient in discussing my wants and desires and also pointed out all the possibilities with their images of a successful garden space. I wasn't sure what I wanted exactly, but they helped me to decide on a complimentary style to suit my personality, such as lifestyle, our home architecture and of course tastes. They sketched several options on accomplishing this and came up with a final draft of a planting plan. They also offered assistance in referrals to contractors for garden elements: benches, fountains, types of rock or stone.
