Rich and crew did a fantastic job!!!!!!! Unfortunately there was a delay due to the first coat of covering didn't work as it was outdated. Rich took it back to the provider, suggesting they remove outdated product. He then had to strip floor back to the wood. After two more days of work the floor is awesome!!!!! Rich and his team did a fine job, refurbishing the hardwood floor in the front (375 sq') room of our 1920's small bungalow. The floor was showing the decades of scuffs, cracks, scratches, etc... After 3 days of work (sanding, filling, buffing, sealing, etc.) the beauty and warmth of the hardwood floor is amazing. I'm still waiting a couple more days before placing any rugs back down and am thinking that I might prefer to leave the hardwood floor as it is because it's so beautiful. This was one of 5 very competitive bids and I decided to go with Rich because of his knowledge, experience, and the clear pride he takes in restoring wood floors. I recently worked with Rich of Barakatt Floor Covering, for flooring installation and refinishing in our home built in 1885, and I cannot recommend him highly enough! From the beginning, Rich demonstrated professionalism by being on time and highly organized throughout the process. His efficiency was impressive, and it was clear he values his customers' time. As a woman mostly home alone during the day, I also appreciated the sense of safety and respect I felt from Rich and his staff. Rich is truly an expert in his trade. Richard listens. If there is a spot you are not happy with he explains why and he will fix it if you are not happy with it. He also is a man of detail and takes pride in his work. His many years of expertise gave my husband and I the confidence of trusting him fully with the choices we made. He also is sensitive to your budget. We plan on asking him to return to finish our kitchen flooring soon. I highly recommend him and his team.

Job done right. Very responsive. Most estimates were higher and came with constraints while Rich was very flexible.

They were patient, though, likable, competent, modest.

We had a 60 year old oak floor that was in terrible shape. Warped, water damaged, cracked, full of extra nails and several holes. Now it looks fantastic. Even where boards had to be replaced completely. Rich showed up when he said he would, finished a half day earlier than expected and left no mess. This includes no dust in the air after sanding. No hidden extra costs or upcharges. It was just him not a crew but even bigger companies bid more and planned to take just as long. Rich is no-nonsense and gets it done. Very happy with the outcome.

Iâ m impressed and happy with their work. What I appreciate were the prompt response to my call and emails during proposal process and for completing the work ahead of schedule. I am very demanding in the quality of the work, so I appreciate the meticulously sanding of the floors, evenly over deep stains and gouges, removing door thresholds, going under refrigerator door overhang, etc. And masking off each floor planks at transition points to match individual planks. Also appreciate the color matching to the existing finish, adjusting at each of the coats. Dust containment was excellent, and clean up was spotless. Very fair pricing.

Very good work. There was some miscalculating and I had to buy some additional material. Hopefully will be able to return. My floor was unleveled, Rich found a way how to make it practically ideal. He spent a lot of time for make it very accurate way. The project budget became higher than I expected, but the job that Rich made for the floor leveling worth it. Besides he gave me several good suggestions about next floor project and favored me with a small fix in my closet.

Rich really knows his stuff, and cares about the quality of his work. My 99-year-old new home had 2 kinds of wood, which he identified immediately and was able to show me pictures from previous projects of the same wood and how it would look when freshly sanded and sealed. He seamlessly repaired some damaged and deep stained areas, carefully matching grain by selecting just the right boards from a batch. you can't even tell which oak boards are new, and the vertical fir you can only tell because the old boards had more staining at the ends, but very subtle. I love how the floors came out and how clean everything was when he was done. I will highly recommend to friends!

Rich is very experienced and really gave me great advice regarding how to finish the floor and replace the baseboards so they were more modern and in style. He found a big area of dry rot (surprise) which he replaced with great expertise and very quickly. He did two sets of stairs and bannisters which were very difficult, but came out beautiful. Overall, I was delighted and would recommend Rich very highly.

I hired Barakatt to refinish about 1800 sq ft of wood floor (some maple and some southern yellow pine). I chose him out of 4 bids because he was clearly more knowledgeable than the other contractors. He understands wood and how it responds to temperature and humidity. He replaced some maple boards in the kitchen which had been subject to water damage - the area now looks perfect. Rich and his crew did an excellent job of sanding and cleaning with great attention to detail. Rich is a perfectionist and made sure that the minimum amount of wood was removed to return the floors to the best possible condition. He applied 4 coats of high quality polyurethane varnish for a beautiful finish. He also uses a sophisticated dust collection system, so no dust needs to be removed following the work. I would recommend him without hesitation. My floors will now last a long time.

We are very happy with the work that was done to bring our hardwood floors back to life. The first thing guests say when entering our home is how great the floors look. Rich was fantastic to work with, we had a very tight window for when we needed the work to be done and he worked very hard to meet our timeline. Rich also took extra care to make sure we got the exact look we wanted. Can't recommend Barakatt Floor Covering enough.

I was very pleased, it’s a lot of hard work. I got an estimate of three days and it’s billed over one more day. But he didn’t ask me for any additional fees. I would’ve been notified before I paid the bill if there was additional fees. The floor was over 60 years old so I was very pleased with the way it turned out.

Finished work on time. Was thorough and detailed. Cleaned up the mess after work was done. Rich returned calls and came immediately if there was a problem. Very satisfied with him.
