All Bay Floors representative (John Wu) measured the work-area and provided free estimate. There was no pressure to commit to the job. We went through some negotiation to adjust the price he was quoting on doing the stairs. The installers arrived on the job day and quickly went to work. They ripped off the carpet, baseboard, laid down the underlayment, laminate planks and finished off the transition pieces and baseboards, on the first day. The next day and a half, was spent on 15 stairs. It took so long primarily, because on the second day there was only one person working on the stairs! That was a surprise to us, since we expected more people to finish the job. The work was supposed to be done by day 2, but it dragged onto the third day. The supervisor (who is also the owner) stayed with the installers the whole time on day 3, to make sure they finished in time. The price I paid is what was quoted to me. They even helped with internal speaker wiring, by running it along baseboard.
Description of Work: All Bay Floors replaced existing carpet from living room, family room, kitchen, and stairs with laminate flooring. Overall, the job was done well, but there were some places where they should have spent more time in fixing the problem. For instance, floor leveling. I could feel the floor sink in some places, when I walk over. This could have been easily fixed by applying floor leveler compound. Also, when it came to cutting pieces (baseboard, transition, laminate planks), they could have done a better job in making sure the pieces fit well and sat flush against each other and against the wall. This was lacking at a lot of places and I actually had to insist on correction at some places, although there are still areas which exhibit minor issues.
