Beware and weigh your options before hiring this team. Matt and his team did successfully replace my HVAC system, was reasonable and transparent about price, but have significant gaps that prevent a 5-star review. I’ll update the review based on inspection results. 1. Communication issues: I spent a month of calling/texting/emailing to get in touch with Matt to start the project after initial inspection. Then when the project did not pass first inspection, one of Matt’s technicians came to check. I found the guy very defensive and he left without acknowledging my concerns. Then Matt called and yelled at me, accusing me being difficult, wouldn’t allow any time for me to speak up. I felt belittled as a customer, especially because of the next incident. 2. Cleanliness issues: Matt’s team spilled purple chemical to my light-colored carpet. They also did not cover the floor fully so there was yellowish stain. The lead technician didn’t want to address the issue. When he finally agreed he couldn’t remove it. Matt came back twice to remove the purple stain with some unknown solvent with strong odor, but insisted the yellowish was my cat’s pee. It was not. The team walked inside and out of my house with booties halfway off which defeated the purpose. I found myself very uncomfortable with the way they worked, but still agreeably paid the full amount as they completed the task and it’s difficult for everyone during COVID. 3. Respectfulness and Integrity: The lead technician lied to Matt about inspecting our attic. He did not enter the attic. I was working by the entrance the entire time. When I gave feedback to Matt, out of best intentions, he let me know he trusted his guys and did not send anyone to check the ducts in attic. He also petted my dog without asking. Which was a no-no during COVID.

Air Quality Heating & Air Conditioning replaced my 60 year old plus heating system in November 2020 with a new Carrier furnace, new Carrier air conditioning unit along with new ducts and vents. The owner Matt is a stand up guy, a straight shooter who can be trusted and one that also provided me with good options and literature for my project. In addition, Matt's crew did a fantastic job of completing my job on time with high quality and at a very fair price. The workmanship was outstanding, the workers cleaned up at the end of each day and were very courteous. I highly recommend Matt's company and crew for any of your HVAC needs as I am an extremely pleased customer.

Matt and his crew did an excellent job with our new Carrier heat pump and Nest thermostat. All aspects of the project from the initial review, the quote, the installation and the followup were timely and professional. I would definitely work with Air Quality again. Five Stars.

I highly recommend Air Quality. Both the installation and the equipment are of high quality. This was actually a redo of a failed-zoned system that Valley installed 11 years ago. The 4-zone system I have now is so efficient, quiet and comfortable. Matt Farber, the owner of Air Quality, is very knowledgeable and can find solutions to accommodate your needs. Excellent customer service even after the installation to help fine-tune the system.

My experience with Air Quality and Matt Farber was one my best contractor experience ever.   I contacted Matt based on a reference from a former co-worker.  I liked her reasoning as to why she chose Matt and his company and he did not let me down.  When Matt came, his first action was to review each room in our home, discuss our living style, etc.  It was obvious he was interested in doing what was best for us and not just selling a heating system.  He took the time to show me various types of heaters and air conditions explaining the pros and cons of each, he explained to me the difference between stage and variable speed with their pros and cons and how they work.  I knew I had to replace my ducts and choose to relocate them to better locations.  Matt walked the house as we discussed best location and style.  I wanted air conditioning but my available space is very limited.  Matt went around the house looking at different locations, measured and provided options of different sizes
explaining pros, cons of the units and locations.
Matt gave me quotes on the various units, etc that interested me.  He did not push me to make a choice right away and did not push for the most expensive or easiest for his firm.  When I sent emails to him with questions or asking for quotes for other options, he was patient and provided the information in a timely manner. I did get other estimates from other reputable
companies.  I compared them very closely and it confirmed I was making the best decision for me with Air Quality.  Matt was a ?one-stop? shop.  He arranged and scheduled the Bayren inspections, the asbestos abatement, the painter to repair the holes in the wall (relocation of registers), , inspection, etc.   He worked with my schedule and was a great help.  The installers were wonderful!!  When I changed my mind about something or asked for a relocation of some elements, they politely did as I asked with a smile.  Extremely professional and pleasant workers.
Both Bayren and the city inspector commented on the job.  I heard the inspector say more than once ?nice job? ?nice clean job?.  I am a rather pickyand exacting person who asks questions.  These people exceeded my expectations.  That is saying a lot!!  Yes, everything passed inspection the first time with no problem.
A week after everything was done, he came to the house to make sure we were happy with everything.  He checked to see if I wanted the thermostat adjusted and took time to show me once again how to program it.  Now that is customer service!!

Matt gave a written estimate for this project on the spot, which was great considering that other companies would take days to send a written proposal or wouldn't send one at all. The initial bid included work we decided not to do, and Matt was very helpful in changing the proposal to be within our budget and priorities.
They installed a super-efficient furnace and air conditioner the first day and spent the second day installing a zone system. They were extremely clean and courteous and were even able to work around my toddler's nap time.
They exceeded my expectations in every way, and although the cost of this kind of equipment is quite high, the comfort difference compared to the old equipment is enormous. I would definitely recommend Air Quality for any residential HVAC project.

I had Matt install my carrier AC and furnace. His bid was way lower than Sears and Air Quality is Diamond Certified. Matt was friendly, took time to explain all model features, filters, etc, answered questions and explained what he would do to meet electrical, gas and building codes since I wanted the work done with permits.
His three man crew including himself had the furnace, AC, condenser installed in just under 12 hours. They cleaned up after themselves, real nice, clean joints, the inspector was impressed, they had to install an 8ft ground connector too and he even put an extra outlet outside for free.
Taking off one star as the AC condenser was advertised as 17 SEER rating but the one installed was a little less. I have given Matt the contract also for annual maintenance, filter replacement and check the furnace/ AC is maintained to keep the 10 year warranty on the carrier unit.
Other than that I highly recommend Air Quality for all your HVAC needs, I would use again

The appointment process by phone worked smoothly and I was promised a visit by a technician on a particular time and date.   A few hours before he arrived, the technician called to say he was running late.    Then he called again later, to reschedule for a following day, saying he had a flat tire he had to get repaired.   So, we waited for the  next day.     He finally showed up, late again as I recall, did what he agreed to do, and seemed competent enough.    But, he didn't have an air filter with him, and had to make yet another trip to get that and come back near the end of the day to install it.
At the time, I thought this was just a one off incident because I had favorable experience with the company especially when they installed the system in 2006 .     The maintenance technicians who came later were obviously not so skilled and not quite as prompt, but they didn't have to be top flight for routine maintenance.
I called again this year (2012) for a maintenance appointment.     Deja Vu all over again.    It was almost the exact scenario as before.   The maintenance guy called at the last minute to delay, then said it would be a matter of a few days because of a flat tire.   I recalled the story from before.    I called the manager of the company and told them to cancel the appointment and demand some professionalism from their maintenance staff.

We had originally received quotes from 2 companies, but Air Quality was, thought still on the high side, much less than the other quote.
Air Quality did not pressure us to purchase a specific unit, but explained how sizes worked and what would be best for our home.
They wre also kind enough to get the city permits.
Work was completed in 2 days and the installers were very professional.

The whole process of them giving us a bid, installing, and follow up was very good.  It's nice to be sitting in a warm house with a cost saving furnace.  We were very happy with Ben who gave us our bid, Matt the owner who came out to review the job and teach us how to use our thermostat,  the support staff at the office who followed up with appointment calls, and the workers who were here installing the furnace.  Everyone was professional and polite.

Air Quality Heating and Air Conditioning (AQHAC) did a great job. They came out and made an inspection, determining what was needed. They needed to upgrade some of the electrical wiring and breakers for the new system because of new building codes and because the new system was a bit beefier. They helped select the right units for my place and a good controller for each unit. They fixed some of the ductwork under the house becaue it, was undersized for the size of the room some of the vents were servicing. They also cut some additional air intake passageways to get more even temperature distribution throughout the house. Very polite and hard working. I have a few minor complaints though. First, it did take them substantially longer than they said to get the system installed. They didn't complain and worked hard to complete the job -- very professional -- but I think it took about 50% to 60% longer than they had said it would. Another concern was the inspection. They put the city inspection off for a long time (5 months) and I received a note in the mail from the city that it needed to be inspected. I contacted AQHAC; they said they would do it but then didn't for a while longer. When I got a second letter from the city, I contacted AQHAC again and they did proceed to get the inspection. There were a few problems which they promptly fixed and I expect it to pass inspection this time, but it is almost 6 months since the original install which is a little long to wait for inspection. (the system has been up and running fine since then, so it is not as if we didn't have heating and air conditioning -- the city simply hadn't signed off on it yet). Finally, when they were fixing the few things that didn't pass inspection, they dug a whole in my yard to bury some pipe without asking me about it. I wasn't happy about that and I didn't want the drainage hole where they dug it, so I asked them to move it. They were apologetic and filled in the old hole, covered it so you can't even tell there was one there, and dug the new one, but they needed to have asked me first.
All in all it was a pretty good job and I would recommend them -- I think they do quality work -- but just make sure that all the communication is solid.

They did a great job. Matt, the owner, supervised the installation and was available during the city inspection. Everything went very smoothly and I am very pleased with the service I received. Matt and his crew were very professional and they were able to start and complete the job very quickly. Any time I had questions, Matt was very responsive in answering them. I would definitely recommend to anyone.

our heating system was not working, first we thought the thermostat might not be working, so we replaced it, still didn't work, then we realized it was something beyond thermostat. So, we searched the angie's list to find someone closeby (with 15 miles) with reasonable price within reasonable timeframe. They offered next morning appointment, which was pretty good to us since we have been there without heat for couple days now. The dignostic price was not bad, $85 compare to >$100 from ohter companies, so this morning Tim called us 2 minutse before 10am (his arrival window is 9:30 -10:00) and told us he is on the way, so I guess we can say he is on time. He told my husband that the electronic ignitor needs to be replaced with $250. So, the total service fee is about $335. I am little shocked by the expensive ignitor because I read somehwere else said ignitor only cost about $50 itself. Other than the expensive bill, I don't have other comments.

Our home hasn't been getting warm as it should, especially during cold snaps. Our furnace is only 2 years old, but we did re-roof, so we wondered whether something was messed up with the ductwork during that work. The dispatcher was very helpful and able to route a technician to our house within an hour due to a gap in his schedule. Tim was able to quickly diagnose that the heater had been installed to only use the low stage of the 2 stages available. That made it very hard to heat the house. He patch-wired the heater to demonstrate the difference. He did a good job of explaining the problem and testing out the results. After installing a new themostat and wiring up the furnace properly it is like having a new furnace.

Before hiring Air Quality, I obtained estimates from five highly rated contractors. Air Quality's estimate was the lowest by far. The problem that needed fixing was fairly straightforward - my home office and master bathroom did not get enough heat from my central heating system. The ducts were clean, but the distribution of air/heat left those two rooms with little heat. The recommendations ranged from the high end - "Relocate the furnace to a more central location in the attic and replace all duct work" for about $5000. The typical recommendation was "Completely replace all existing duct work" for $2500-$3000. Air Quality's recommendation was to instead install dampers and replace only the duct work to the two rooms for $1200. Although the two technicians did arrive about 35 minutes late (8:35am instead of 8am), they finished at the promised time of 11am. Before leaving, I had them show that the air flow problem had been corrected, which it hadn't. So they spent about 20 minutes adjusting the dampers until I was satisfied that the airflow to the two rooms was adequate. The work comes with a 2 year warranty on parts and labor.

Andre, from Air Quality Heating & Air conditioning was wonderful to work with. Very professional and did wonderful work on a VERY HOT day. Our experience with this company was very positive and while they were not the lowest bid we received, we feel that we got our moneys worth and will recommend this company to others.

Owner Matt Farber came to make quote. Spent considerable time reviewing job and explaining alternatives. Workers always arrived on time, were neat and thorough. Wherever decisions were to be made, the choice was made to "make it right." Installation was completed in 2 and a half days. Before the inspector arrived, the company owner visited to review the job, found a few things he felt could be improved and brought another worker to make the changes. After the first building inspection, the inspector had several comments about firewall and electrical box wiring. The Air Quality team then scheduled another visit by a different workman who reviewed and corrected those major items. That workman (Andr ) was very helpful and cheerfully made the needed changes. Re-inspection by the building department resulted in a signed off permit. During the process, the office staff (Lisa Raby) was very helpful in scheduling folks to handle the issues.
