All went very well with the exception of length of time from start of project to finish. Before starting of the project, when I asked about how long would it take to do the job, I was told it would take 3 days. It took 5. Appeared to be the lacking of a full crew a couple of days, which was the likelihood of the extra 2 days to complete the project. After completion of the modified valley areas there are 2 exposed openings to rain intrusion. Waiting on sealing of the opening. Will update this review soon.

Jerry from Gardner roofing called to a inquiry I had made on flat roof torch on. Jerry came out gave me a estimate on replacing a flat roof on out room addition 25 x 13 . we had a couple emails back and forth and decided to go with them. Jerry sent over the contract we singed it at the beginning of October faxed it back to him . I called to leave a deposit with my credit card and they wanted to charge me 3% fee for doing so. I contacted Jerry by email and told him this wasn't acceptable he said it wasn't a problem he can take care of it. A few days went by I called Jerry and asked what their schedule looks like to do the job. Was told he would contact me in the next couple days . That was about 3 weeks ago. I have not tried to call them again as I feel this is a simple and basic thing in doing business and if they cant call you to schedule the job or keep you informed I question what type of job are they going to do. And even though Jerry was very friendly and answered all my questions it seems once the contract was signed all I got was crickets Sure glad I didn't give them the deposit as I am out just my time.



Update 10/30/13

I sent Gardner roofing a email inquiring about the lack of response and my intention to look elsewhere. I got a response immediately from Jerry. He apologized said he had been sick, for whatever their reasons were they talked me into continuing with them . I agreed and happy with my decision . They showed up a couple days after I spoke with them on time and did the work contracted ( flat roof torch down ) The owner showed up and we talked and walked over the job . Their workers were great and polite did a great job and cleaned up after . I am very pleased with the job they did and glad we worked through this little hiccup . And I am talking with them about doing the pitched roof on my whole house. If it wasn't for the lack or response after we signed the contract I would have given them a A rating over all . This is a reputable company that has been doing work in the Hemet/San Jacinto Valley forever. They came out and gave me a bid for a 30 yr New Roof. Considering they had to remove two previous roofs and replace several sheets of rotting plywood on the home, the price was well worth it. But more, was knowing they stand behind their work and knowing they are not a "fly-by-night" company who will not be there when and if you need them in the future. With Gardner, I have true peace of mind.
