SAN GABRIEL VALLEY PLUMBING

I've been meaning to write this review for a long time. I have an old house and a rental house and the guys at SGVP are my "go to" plumbers for at least 10 years. They have great communication. Call backs happen within 10 minutes. The men are always professional and clean-up after themselves. They take their time to explain the repairs and what is needed. They have never ever "mansplained" or talked down to me. This latest project was that I needed a line installed for a new fridge. They took care of it and were in and out within an hour. Highly recommend.

He not only fixed the problem, but found out why it continues to clog. and fixed several other issues so I do not have this continuing problem.

They arrived 15 minutes late.
Over the phone, I describe the problem to the owner , who told me that I need the closet flange for the leakage. He did not do the work himself. When the workmen showed up (2 together), Javier said that it was not necessary to install the closet flange. All he did was changed the wax rings, the flex line, and the floater inside the tank even though it may not be necessary..

At first I was scared off by their hourly rate. However, they work very fast and kept everything VERY clean. When the bill was presented it was not unreasonable. But they could have done it without changing out all the other parts.

They showed up 15 minutes early, ready to work. They were professional, polite, and very knowledgable. They had to dig up the old steel drain pipes under the house, replacing all the drain pipes. It took less than 4 hours, including going to the hardware store to get correct pipes. I got several other quotes to replaces the old pipes under the home, they came in the lowest; were the least B.S. company I dealt with too.

Javier and Mike showed up exactly on time. They were thorough and listened to my concerns. They checked out all my drains, and snaked the main line all the way to the street. I had had another plumber come before and he dismissed my concerns and told me he could not even get the snake into the pipes. These guys were quick, professional, and offered great service for a very fair price.

I was thrilled with their work. In addition to finding the clog and replacing the pipe, they recommended and added a clean out on that side of the house. Very sensible, but not something I would have thought of. Responded quickly and cleaned up well after. The video was estimated and billed at $250. BUT...the pipe replacement was estimated at $650--and billed at $1,200! Nearly doubled in price with no warning. The first I knew of the price increase was when I received the bill. To my knowledge there was nothing unpredictable about the repair. ( I handled it poorly and just dragged my feet on paying.) I have since read reviews of their work that mention both the excellent work AND the serious underestimating. And I've checked the law, which says a contractor can't increase the cost by more than a nominal amount without discussing it with the homeowner BEFORE continuing with the work. If you use San Fernando I highly recommend discussing their habit of seriously underestimating the cost and getting a guaranteed price before proceeding.

Very prompt, professional and friendly. Highly recommended! We called at 9:30 am to set up a 12pm appointment. They came right at 12 and he was out by 12:40. He detected the problem and fixed it quickly.

He turned off the leak as we asked him to do which saved us a lot of money on our water bill however he was unable to find the leak. It really didn t resolve the entire problem, just the urgency. The work that was done however was hard labor in order to stop the leak. He had to dig a hole in the ground to stop the water underground.

Bob called back promptly. The service person came on time and did the work. It was a good experience. I would use their services again.

They gave a good estimate but there were additional costs that we had to pay that San Gabriel was not clear about in their 1st quote. The original quote was about $850 but the total came to about $1270. This total was fine except that I had to pay two other companies additional money for cement work and for pipe inspections which was additional $600. Overall, the grand total with everything was close to $2000, but still below competition but I was not happy that there were additional costs not included in the first quote. Also, I really paid $1270 for time worked not actual work done. I think this is a good company but I have mixed feelings about what transpired here. They stopped the problem but almost by accident. They did not find the leak, they just turned off the line that was causing the problem. I will use them again as they took care of two small problems inside the house very fast and effectively.

It was a waste of my time. He should have just told me there's nothing he can do and not charge me anything.

We were told by other plumbers that we needed an expensive repair (for a leaking sewage pipe) under the house. SGV sent out a plumber who crawled into the crawlspace and determined that no repair was necessary. He would not accept payment for his time, because he was there to give a free estimate. They were punctual and honest and we'd call them again.

On time, courteous, and neat work.

I CALLED LATE ON SUNDAY TO REPAIR A BROKEN SPRINKLER THAT WAS SHOOTING WATER UP TO THE ROOF. THE PLUMBER (JACK) CAME THE NEXT DAY AT THE PROMISED TIME. THE WORK WAS DONE VERY PROFESSIONALLY AND HE FIXED SEVERAL OTHER ITEMS.

I HAVE USED SAN GABRIEL VALLEY PLUMBING SEVERAL TIMES FOR DIFFERENT JOBS, INCLUDING WORKING ON MY PIPES AND THEY HAVE ALWAYS DONE A GREAT JOB. I FEEL I CAN RELY ON THEM IN AN EMERGENCY.

THEY PROVIDED THE MOST COMPETITIVE BID. THE TECHNICIAN OFFERED TO HELP ASSEMBLE THE CABINET, WHICH WAS OUT OF HIS JURISDICTION BUT WAS MUCH APPRECIATED SINCE I WAS UNABLE TO DO IT. WE PAID FOR HIS TIME, OF COURSE. HE WAS THOROUGH AND CALLED BACK ON A WEEKEND TO MAKE SURE THE JOB WAS DONE TO OUR SATISFACTION.
