They never called me back.  I have used them in the past and they were very good. This time they never called me back, it is not very professional.

Peter refinished all of my hardwood floors when I purchased my house in San Francisco's Marina district in 1988. He also did a small installation when I expanded a room in the house about 10 years ago. Both times he did a great job, so naturally I called him when I needed additional work this winter. I had water damage in my house following the heavy rains, and needed the hardwood floors in my dining room and hallway repaired and refinished.  We agreed that he would replace the wood in the damaged areas as needed, and refinish those areas to match as closely as possible the existing wood. Peter and his assistant arrived when scheduled, removed the damaged wood, placed new wood in its place, and to my surprise left. I asked him about the sanding and finishing, and he said he could do that when I wanted to refinish all of the floors in my entire house. What?! Now I had two large areas patched with new wood, that was not only an eye sore but a safety / tripping hazard, since it was signficantly higher than the level of the balance of the floor. I was significantly worse off then when I started. In order to refinish all of the hardwood floors in my house, Peter said he would need the house vacated for 4 or 5 days, and that I would need to hire a mover to remove all of the furniture. Certainly not something I would be in a position to do for a very long time - perhaps when I might leave my house for a vacation in the next year or two, but not something remotely possible in the near future. So I told Peter I would need him to stick to the agreed scope of work, and only do the patch and repair as we had agreed. He did not return a number of my calls, finally calling back to say he had been on an extended vacation. We agreed on a time and day he would return to finish the job. He did not show up. I have called him numerous times since then, and he has not returned any of the calls. In my last message to him, I asked that he at least call me back to let me know if he intended to finish the job, or whether I should hire someone else. That was three weeks ago and he has not even returned that call.  I have since started calling other hardwood guys, and naturally I had trouble finding someone who wants to finish a job someone else has started. However, I finally found someone, who has had to start over anyway, since he said that the wood Peter used was subpar quality and not even professionally installed. Stay away from this company - its better days are long gone.

When our first two calls to the company weren't returned, we got other estimates, but decided to try once more. This time, after two days our call was returned. 
We were visiting with friends for a few days, so were able to schedule the work then, since the jb required three coats of polyurethane, which had to dry between coats. We gave them the key, then returned home to find a finished floor. 

They were punctual, efficient and the guys do a great job. I was totally satisfied with the job, the were good and finished the job in a timely manner.

He finished the floors for my 3 rooms. He did a great job and was quick. The floors were fabulous.

Job took four days to complete. The doorways were covered with plastic to minimize the dustless sanding process. The rooms were cleaned up at the end of each day. We were very happy with the excellent results. The only unavoidable negative was that we couldn't avoid the strong fumes from the urethane. We will gladly refer Visalli's to all our friends.
