Overall every thing was done professionally, although some pieces' details can be improved.  Two pieces they did not restore the hooks and latches until we pointed out that they were missing.  One bed piece was put in backwards and they had to redo it. Wood repair was awesome and detailed--couldn't even tell where it was damaged.  Bought more antique European pieces from them that were great bargains.  Generally, a great place to go, but got to watch the details--the owner is very nice and will work with you on both prices and correcting their mistakes.  Plan ahead: some pieces may be more complicated to reupholster than they estimated at first, so they may not get everything done exactly to their ETA.

Michael and staff provided invaluable assistance with the fabric with two totally different pieces and did a beautiful job with only a general idea from me. Somehow he can match fabric with the original furnitures structure that gels. Uncanny.
He works at his own pace and charges as job requires, but results are impressive, museum quality. Worth any cost or wait if you have valuable pieces.
Michael is reliable and the results are amazing. He knows his art. Pickup and deliver included.

The quality of the service performed was well beyond my most optimistic expectations.  Michael picked up the chair on the same day that I visited his store and returned the chair the next day with the job completed.  The quality of the work performed exceeded my expectations by a wide margin.  Venezia also does a variety of other home decoration services and I plan to discuss additional projects with them very soon.

The work was done in a timely manner.  Michael kept me apprised throughout the process; ordering the material, when the material was received and when the job would be completed.  He called and arranged a time of delivery and made sure I was satisfied before leaving.

On both occasions, MY personal experience with this company was excellent and I remain an EXTREMELY SATISFIED customer. Based on my two excellent experiences, I recommended this company to two close friends -- one friend needed a new slip cover for her rocking chair and the other friend needed four chairs reupholstered. In both cases, the company failed to fully meet expectations. The owner admitted to my one friend (after SEVERAL weeks, one slipcover that was improperly stitched and another that did not fit the chair, unreturned phone calls and many excuses) that slipcovers really were not their forte...yet they accepted this job in the first place. The company did issue a full refund upon demand. For the second referral, (I attached a strong "caveat emptor" to this referral), Venezia Upholstery accepted the commission of reupholstering two parsons chairs and two cushioned barrel chairs. The parsons chairs were done perfectly, on time, and they look fabulous! However, one of the barrel chair seat cushions was not done properly, and visibly so. The owner initially convinced my friend that in time the cushion would stretch out to fit into the seat well of the chair as it should. After two days she decided it wasn't going to stretch out and that it needed to be redone. The owner took both chairs back (early August 2010). Nearly three weeks have gone by and despite promising that the misshapen cushion would be redone and delivered by the end of the week of August 20th, my friend still does not have her chairs. Based on the experiences of my friends, I can no longer recommend this company to others. If only my friends had received the same consistent and excellent service that I received, my report would have been resoundingly positive.
