He is reliable, creative, easy to work with, very responsive and personable. We knew we wanted a deck but really had no concrete plans on what we wanted. He came up with an incredible design maximizing our view of the ocean and Mt. Tam as much as possible
Trevor is a perfectionist and detailed oriented. The quality of his work is really outstanding. His price was more than reasonable for the quality and results we got. I have no hesitation in recommending him to others and plan on using him for a future remodeling project..

My wife and I had wanted a new,
low, rear Patio Deck and a new rear Fence for some time and had finally gotten
a quote from someone well qualified to build it. But, due to his current
projects, he couldn’t schedule and finish the work in time for our family
reunion that was 6 weeks away.
Another company gave us a rough quote, but
we weren’t sure of their quality and they didn’t seem to want to write any
estimates down. We’d done a major remodel 11 years before, which ended badly,
so we were cautious.
Next door to us Trevor, who owns T.
Byrne Construction, was finishing a remodel of our neighbor’s house. Talking
briefly with Trevor, in passing, I liked his upbeat, can-do approach, and his
friendly, focused energy. My neighbor had nothing but good things to say about
him, his work, and his being on schedule. His work looked very solid and well
done.
Trevor came over the following week. He
listened well to how we wanted the deck to be, measured the patio, and said he
could finish the work before our reunion. He emailed us a very clearly written
estimate that included, basically, everything. He said he disliked adding on
extra costs during or at the end of a job. The following week we signed a
contract with him.
By the fourth day of work he had much of
the structural support for the deck built out. It felt strong and precise. The
Ipe boards were to run diagonally out from our house to a totally curved
masonry retaining wall; and to connect with the second tread of the existing
steps.
Trevor followed the curve of the wall so well–I
don’t think I could’ve pushed a piece of cardboard between the deck boards and
the wall. I felt like the details of the deck meant as much to him, as to me.
He kept at it steadily, and created a gorgeous
hardwood deck for us, beautifully crafted, solid in its structure, and with the
highest quality materials. He rebuilt the old rear patio steps, in Ipe, and now
they sweep up from the new deck gracefully. Along one side of the deck there
was a low unattractive masonry wall. He suggested, and then built a bench over
it in the same wood. It looks great and is very comfortable.
He removed our old rear fence and
built a new one that I designed and drew up, to harmonize with the look of the
new deck. Like the deck, his price was slightly lower than the one other
company I trusted to do a good job, though he didn’t know the other estimates.
When my wife saw the structural frame of
the new fence (all but fence-boards) she liked it so much she said it was a
shame we’d have to cover it over. When Trevor installed the cedar boards it
looked strong and beautiful.
I asked him several times for advice about
a building project I'd started, while he was working, and he cheerfully
obliged. One day he helped me fix something in our basement for over half an
hour. I told him to add this time to his bill. He laughed and said it wasn’t
necessary.
Trevor finished the deck and the rear
fence well before our family arrived. When we settled the final payments for
the work, he stuck with his original prices. I had to remind him of a debris
removal cost he forgot to add in.
He’ll be doing more work for us next year
on another part of the house. Communication was excellent, and he kept the site
organized and clean.
I’m kind of a perfectionist in my work and
Trevor impressed me even beyond what I hoped for. My wife and I couldn’t be
more comfortable with the level of his work, his integrity and fairness.

Trevor was punctual and professional. The two bookshelves came out perfect. He did a great job matching the existing moulding. He cleaned up everything once he was done. Our toddlers actually liked having him around. Very happy with our bookshelves.
