Shreve & Co. was established in 1852, just four years after the discovery of gold in the California hills. A family-run, independent jeweler, Shreve is the oldest retail establishment in California and the only jeweler to have survived the devastating 1906 earthquake. Shreve takes great pride in its long-standing partnerships with the finest jewelry and timepiece brands in the world. Shreve's flagship store at the corner of Post Street and Grant Avenue in San Francisco has been the jeweler's home for over 100 years.Shreve also has locations in the Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto.In September 2011, for the first time in our 160-year history, Shreve & Co. expanded outside the Bay Area with a new location in downtown Portland, OR.
