When they came it was not the a factory replacement which had a tint. They said it was not available any more. I called another firm who had the exact factory replacement for my car.

Everything was excellent. Safelite Auto Glass actually saved me some money because they bought the wrong kind of windshield because I didn't tell them to put in a bronze-tinted windshield to match my other windows. They put in a blue-tinted windshield. So, Safelite Auto Glass asked me if I wanted them to go back and put in the other one in, but I said, "Just put that one in," and so I got a discount for that. It didn't cost as much even though it was my fault because I wasn't aware of the windshield tint.

Their bid came in well below other bids. Interestingly enough, they asked us what others had quoted us before they would offer a bid, so clearly there is a lot of price gouging in this business.
Our window repair was done quickly and professionally. They even cleaned our car and did it all at our place. Would use again.

Service tech arrived on time. He emailed me the night before and called ahead to confirm his arrival time. The job was accomplished faster that estimated. 2 days after installation my windshield was struck by a rock and severely cracked. I had to request a repeat installation which was equally excellent. The tech negotiated a reduced deductible with my insurance.

The company called promptly after my insurance company notified it that the windshield needed to be replaced. As the company's shop is not convenient to our location, the company scheduled a replacement at our home during a 5-hour window. The telephone staff was responsive and professional. On the day scheduled for service, the technician called early to give me a 1-hour time window during which the work would be performed. He arrived when he said he would. He described our car (old Mercedes SUV) as an extremely challenging model. He was careful not to damage anything, to replace all parts in their original places, and to clean up after himself. The job took nearly 2 hours, longer than the 1 to 1 1/2 hours he had estimated. As it was starting to get dark, he said he would call to cancel his last appointment as he would be unable to see well enough to do the work. The new windshield is performing well, seems to be aligned properly, and everything we've tested so far works fine. We were pleased with the service.

Someone broke into my car by smashing the driver side window. I looked for references on Angie's List. I selected Safelite Auto Glass. I was able to get an estimate and schedule the service via the web. It seemed to require a few days for an open appointment. They emailed reminders about the date and time of the appointment. They gave me a four hour window 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. They called at 8:30 and quoted an 11:00 arrival. They arrived at 10:45. They estimated 45 minutes to an hour to perform the work. They finished in 45 minutes and the work was properly done, the price charged was the estimated amount. The tecnician was polite and competent.

They matched lowest prices by competitors. I would use them again, if I needed additional work done.

Due to a crack from a stone thrown up on the freeway, I had to have the front windshield replaced. They tried to determine if the crack could be patched instead of replaced, but it was too large a crack. They came when they said they would and took less time than predicted. Very clean job.

I went to Safelite because it provided the best price quote. I had also used the same Safelite for a previous window replacement on another car. They did not have an at home appt available on the day that I wanted the car window replaced so I drove to the 4th Street, SF location. I had to wait about 2 hours for the job to be completed. I waited in a nearby Starbucks. The odd part of the service was that when I went back to Safelite after two hours, the man at the desk said that they didn't have the glass available and that it would have to be ordered. i said that I had left my phone number and had been waiting about a block away and that why hadn't anyone called me. Then about five minutes later, he said that no, they had a piece of glass and it had been installed. The window seems to be working properly and keeping out the rain. The original quote was for $286.70 (replace glass for rear passenger window), but I was charged $252.67. I think I forgot to mention Angie's list. Why did I get a lower price than originally quoted? I don't know, but I didn't ask either.
