Background condition – a historical high-rise building and tough HOA requirement challenged the process. In the past 4 years, other  interviewed contractors, because of the challenge, failed to deliver an affordable solution.  Three of them had done major renovation in the building.  They confidently explained the scope would entail trenching the concrete floor (10' to 30' distance) and opening walls.  Their bids were from $25,000 to $35,000.   There was no value in such investment just for W/D, hence I shelved the project. 
Saving grace – Rinaldi Construction delivered an elegant affordable solution because Vince is thorough. He actually checked all visible pipes and drains in the unit and had his finding confirmed by his technicians. In sum, unit already has code compliant pipe with water shut off valve and spare electrical outlets in kitchen for additional appliances connection.  His finding reduced work scope in time and budget.  This is the type of general contractor one should always have; one who has your best interest in mind and one who is up to date with city code requirement.  Furthermore, my building janitor said Rinaldi Construction is the best because they kept common area clean regularly.  Finally, Vince also provided a practical solution that supersedes the HOA requirement in water leak handling.  
 

When we needed additional work done, he also gave us a great recommendation to an electrician.

They had to remove most of a wall due to dry rot, replace the window and frame,sheetrock the interior, and paint everything they repaired.  Plus, they fixed all the pipes that were leaking. (3).  When it rained heavily two weeks later, there were no more leaks.  Having lived with a leaking porch for 5 years, I was delighted to have a dry porch.

Mr Rinoldi, has done other work for me since the large job in 2006. A large Staircase 5 flights up had to be replaced and the job took a month. It was very nice job as usual. He has done foundation work for me that went well replacing part of the front of the Victorian Foundation.

It took a little longer than expected but some major changes had to be made . He worked with me with the changes Bath was in the wrong place on second floor. We didn't count on a lot of dry root that was found. or the replacement of the stucco front.
