O'Neill & Neville Construction

I was under a super tight deadline and was lucky O'Neill and Neville were available on short notice. We've been working on our 1913 Queen Anne for about 6 years and are finally seeing the end of the tunnel. The house had lots of deferred maintenance inside and out. On the outside there was a lot of trim, casings and siding that needed to be replaced before repainting.
This building is 3 1/2 stories in the back, so, lots of work. one area, about 24-30SF near the top of the building had asphalt roofing tiles over the wood. The guys got everything done in 4 days! The only complaint is that I'd asked if they could also replace a few vent and down spouts. They had agreed and even taken out a few of the down spouts and vent pipes, but then couldn't do the replacement. I had to spend half a day calling around to find someone who could do this before the painters showed up. That all worked out.
When I climbed the scaffolding to review their work I could see how nice a job they had done, and how much of the siding they'd replaced. All in all, a very good experience. Cleaned up after their work which is always a sign of a professional.

Needed a fence up for a new tenant that would give her and us privacy. In addition we both have dogs and and I needed a very solid fence to keep dogs from interacting. Given I have a rottweiller this was mandatory. Fence is solid and looks great! John and Ian were lovely to have around. Highly recommend. Wish they were not so busy but good for them!

John and Ian did a first class job. They were here every day and finished the job on schedule as they had promised. They also left the place looking great. Excellent work and no hesitation to recommend them.

We were very pleased with the the way our project went.
John and Ian came every day on time, and completed the work in the amount of time that was estimated.
Each night the site was properly cleaned up, so living in the house during the remodel was easy.
They are excellent carpenters, and as necessary hired excellent laborers.
We are still complimented regularly on how nice the house looks.
We received several bids, and their price was very competitive.
We highly recommend that you ask them to bid on your home project.

O'Neill and Neville Construction have a great work ethic. They worked really well with the design of my deck and fence and their price is excellent. They were always timely. There were some glitches and they worked with us and together we worked out a good price to compensate. They are a great company so I would definitely use them again in the future.

John and Ian were great to work with. They were very accommodating and quick to resolving any technical issues. They were fair in handling modifications and pricing. Very ethical practices.

I contacted John O'Neill based on a google search and he came to my home at the scheduled appointment day and time. He explained, in detail, what he proposed to do regarding the portion of the stairs and landings that had rotted as a result of age and being exposed to sun and rain. He further explained that a permit would be required and he would obtain the permit. He submitted a written proposal and a sample agreement. I revised some of the agreement (I am an attorney) and we signed it. He also provided the liability insurance certificate I requested. He and his business partner, Ian Neville did the work and thus no workers compensation insurance was needed. The both showed up each day that the material and labor was provided to my home and worked a full day and completed the job within the time frame agreed upon. They cleaned up the work area each day when leaving at the end of the work day and after completion of the job. Upon completion of the job, they arranged for a SF building inspector to view the work and the job card was signed off on by the Inspector without requiring any other work or corrections to the work already performed. They also replaced a ceiling in one of my bathrooms that had water damage from an old leak. The bid amount for the labor and material provided with regard to the work described, was 50% less than two other bids I received. An architect friend saw the work and told me that the contractors did an excellent job.

We had them remodel our split baths-the larger one with the sink and tub and the smaller one with the sink and toilet. They completely redid the larger bath, replacing all the fixtures, molding, window, closet, tile and flooring. They replaced most of the smaller bath as well. Ian and John did a fantastic job. They were friendly, efficient, reasonably priced and finished the job on time. They were great to work with and made changes that I requested.

It went great. They gave me a very competitive price. They stared on time and finished on time. They made adjustments as needed. All the subs they brought in (plumbing, painting and tiling) were excellent. I had had them do a few smaller things as well in the house and had them repair a fence in the rear yard.
