I had 2 toilets that were not functioning properly. I could tell new flushing mechanisms were needed, or to be adjusted. So I purchased the discount package offered by Angie List, approx $200. And scheduled an appointment. Was a bit concerned, because some of the reviews were not that good. But I needed the service, in that I had visitors coming for a stay.
Well, the plumbers arrive, and I was quoted $800.00 for fixing the 2 toilets! But that as a special deal, Magic would do the job for a mere $500!! Well, yes I decided to do it. My visitors were due shortly, family with children, and I wanted the fix. Which the plumber was happy to do with three parts and about 30 minutes. New handles that were different, obviously thats what the had in the truck. Upon finishing one, he said well, the "filler tube" in the tank was too long, and the toilet would probably overflow if a malfunction. That if I had a hacksaw, I could cut it down. I said, well, should you do this? He said no, for a new tube, he would have to take the tank off, and he could not hacksaw, or something. So that was it.
I was later advised this was just a scam price to pay. Just a rip off by an uncaring company. Probably something to laugh about around the water cooler! I called twice to discuss, but was told the "manager" was lute of the office, and he would call me. Of course, no calls!
Angie, I expect an adjustment on this bill. This was nothing more than a scam!! Stop and look at this. Is this how you want Angies List represented? If so, not with my membership, for sure!!

We offer a premium service that admittedly isn't always cheap, however we quote our prices upfront to allow our customers to decide if the service (and price) is right for them. I have reviewed your invoice and stand by the technician's work and subsequent charges. And to be fair, sir, I did return your phone call and left you a voicemail message. You never called back. In any case, it's never our intention to leave a customer dissatisfied. Reading your review certainly doesn't make me feel as if we're doing the best we can possibly do.
