Kimberly came by my apartment for a brief consultation. Her visit was so much more than a serviceâ it was therapy. She asked questions in a way that helped me think through what mattered most to me. In turn, took what she learned and brought to life in the physical space of my apartment. From the Persian carpet she recommended after learning that my immigrant father brought one on the plane during his journey to the U.S., to the rug-merchant-friend she introduced me to over the phone, to the suggestion to display a backgammon set, I left our two hours feeling beyond seen. I recently had the pleasure of working with an outstanding interior designer, Kimberly Reyes, for a whole house project that surpassed all expectations. Her work was outstanding in creating a perfect living space for our family, with a focus on environmental psychology, well-being, and wellness. From the initial consultation to the final walk-through, the interior designer displayed an exceptional level of expertise in understanding the my vision and translating it into a stunning reality. Kimberlyâ s intuitive approach and deep understanding of environmental psychology and its impact on well-being enabled her to create a harmonious space that fosters positive energy and tranquility. My entire family's dynamic with each other and our space changed- and we now use every room in our house. There is definitely a new peace within!! What truly sets her apart is her meticulous attention to detail. Every aspect of the project, from furniture selection to color palette. She skillfully combined functionality with aesthetics, resulting in spaces that are not only visually captivating but also highly functional for our family. Which was not easy to do!!! We worked with Kimberly and her team. They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable during the entire design process. Remodeling took longer than expected during the pandemic and KRI hung in there. They were amazing! Our family each has a space that feels special to them. It is so much more than we could have ever imagined. They took our wish list and made it bigger and better. Product selection was very specific. Many items were custom designed. Others were carefully sourced. The care taken with selections to meet our needs and fit our particular project had many layers. It was fun for my wife and I to watch the process. I wanted to engage the talents of a professional decorator to improve my loft space. Upgrade both bathrooms, change paint colors add texture, replace furniture and add lighting.. Between Nov 2013 and now,,none of this has happened. There has been a range of excuses over the time. i received nothing more than 3 hand drawings of suggested furniture placement and a very generic estimate. I have no color pallette, no furniture or fabrics suggested, no contractor actual estimates to refine. Kimberly claims no refund and the entire $2760 has been spent despite my having no deliverables.

"This client DID get her deposit back. My team put in over 50 hours. We collected bids for her onsite while she was on vacation. The architect created drawings for her. KRI created floorplans. Hours and Hours of communications and site visits because she could not make a decision. KRI paid out of pocket ALL subcontractors AND refunded her deposit AND while drunk she had her fiance & a friend attacked me on the street at night in SF. Both men were arrested. We bent over backward to make her happy. This was NOT a safe environment - but we followed through because we were contractually obligated AND ethical."

Kimberly is great!! She just gets it. She listened to our input, and helped guide us to try new things. She incorporated existing architecture, design, furniture and our lifestyle to recommend paint colors for the entire house as well as finish for hard wood flooring. Our home looks fantastic. Her customer service was outstanding. She had to work around a tight schedule and dropped everything to take care of us. My house looks amazing and I would not trust my design and decorating decisions to anyone else!

Our house is small, and we didn't think we had a lot of choices about how to fit in a new master bedroom: with a few minor changes to our original plans, Kimberly opened up light and space, and saved us from one of those "awkward" additions that are so common.

We were ready to go forward with our home addition floor plan design that was proposed by our architect, and felt a bit uncomfortable with some of the design elements. We hired Kimberly to review the project, and she quickly envisioned how to rearrange the bathroom, laundry and bedroom to make the space flow much better. Her ideas will make a huge difference in the everyday functional quality of our home. She seemed intuitive as to our needs, and recommended practical solutions to our concerns. I hired Kimberly to pick paint and a carpet. She suggested other repairs then quoted a price. When we met to go over the colors, she was upset with me due to a missed appointment, which was my fault and I paid her for that time, but she asked about $300 more than the original quote, insisting that she spent hours looking for a light and appliances. I tried to clarify her fee, but she insisted the quote was before adding the light and appliances. She got so angry she snatched away the info about the appliances and didn't tell me the carpet color/brand. She pretended to have a 40% discount at a paint store. Turns out it was a 40% off sale.

"I am very sorry that she is going through a personal loss and grieving for her mother. She is cleaning out her mother's space after her death. The things stated are not at all true. She treated everyone on the job horrifically. Made appointments and no show- no call. She is lashing out and I have no words to express what it was like standing in her space.... She did ask to hire me and then refused to pay. I left her with samples, advice on how to rent the space, research on appliances and links to resources. I got on my phone and sent her a link to a 40% off coupon for paint because I was not continuing on with her project. I did not bill her. I OVER delivered to set her up for success and then removed myself from the project professionally. She was upset because I refused to continue on her project."

I needed help coming up with a master design plan and color scheme for my bedroom. I conveyed all my ideas to Kimberly and she returned with three fabulous plans well within budget and a great color scheme. She understood my vision and I was very pleased with the overall design scheme. Only disappointment in this process was when it came time to schedule her contractor. I sent Kimberly an email and followed up with two phone calls asking to get her contractor scheduled. I never heard from her or him so had to find a painter and an electrician on my own. I would recommend Kimberly with the caveat that customer service needs improvement.

We forwarded a list of contractors upon the client's request. I made a call to get her an exceptional rate. We would have assisted with acquiring the labor to complete the project if the client had conveyed that she was not able to connect with any of the contractors on the list provided. We go above and beyond for our clients: even beyond what we are contracted to do. Upon our last communication she was thrilled with everything."

We enjoyed Kimberly's enthusiasm and attention to detail and were impressed with her vision and suggested design but a lack of sufficient explanation regarding the process and the involvement of her contractors led to disappointment regarding the work time table. As a result we've chosen to shelve the project for now... thus we paid her designer fee (25 hours @ $75/hr) but only have her vision of what our living/dining room could look like... no work has been done. The cost of materials was also an issue, as she chose high quality items that even with her discount were more expensive and we expected, such as a curtain rod for $650.

"This saddens us. We go above and beyond for our clients. He wanted a flooring product that was discontinued. We spent over 70 hours searching for and then finding a comparable product. It did push out the schedule 3 weeks. For 25 hrs the client received 3 sets of floorplans, a drawing of a fireplace remodel, computer specs for a mantle and natural stone installation, product searches, custom window treatment designs for a bay window and draperies for a great room, construction details to remove a half wall,build stairs,& all specifics for materials chosen including manufacturers & item #s. Several in-home consultation appts & all bids/quotes"
