Hotwire Inc

This is the first time I've used Hotwire.com to book the trip I'm currently on. The problems started when I arrived at Medford Airport last night (8.1.2013) to pick up my car from Hertz and was informed that they don't accept Debit cards although the info Hotwire.com provided clearly stated that Hertz does accept "Credit and Debit/Check cards in the primary driver's name". All of the other car rental agencies did accept debit cards but they had no cars available. So I was stuck in Medford, Oregon 54 miles away from my final destination without a vehicle and it was late at night. I ended up taking a taxi 54 miles to Yreka which cost $158.00.
When I called Hotwire.com today they had no idea that Hertz doesn't accept debit cards. Then they told me they cancelled the car rental protection fee of $36.00. Just by chance I checked my email a few minutes later to discover that Hotwire cancelled my return flight reservation! When I called Hotwire.com back to insist they fix it immediately, they were contrite and blamed it on their system.

Needless to say I won't use Hotline.com ever again.

You get the rate you need and they keep the name of the rental service anonymous until you sign. There were lots of options available at short notice. I was able to rent the car the day before I needed it. I was pleasantly surprised with the car I got; I didn't know I was going to get a hybrid. The car was nice and quiet and it was pretty new. Everything went smoothly once we got to the office.

We are very satisfied with service and will continue to use them in the future.

Hotwire was the worst service provider I have ever used, the packages we were trying to book kept increasing in price as we got closer the final check out even though the original price included "all taxes and fees". When we called to talk to a person they were unable and/or unwilling to address my complaint. Next I got stuck with a flight that turns a two and a half day trip into a one day trip with a VERY late arrive time and an early departure time. Hotwire did not revile the flight times untill after the non-refundable purchace was made. The costumer service rep on the phone did not very from the info on her screen and sounded like a computer. My destination would take ten hours to drive, my flight time is right at nine hours.
