Very good attention to detail. Patient and reliable.

Went well, did a great job and used quality paint. Did the prep work properly and power washed house. Replaced shingles and 2 doors. Jill was very responsive to all my requests is a true professional.

They were very, very good and worked with us so that we only left the house for a few days at a time. No furniture was removed from the house, so they had a reasonable amount of moving things around they had to do. We specified the particular paint maker we wanted, which accounts for a whole chunk of the high cost of the work (of the 3 bids we received H&F were the most expensive, but also the only people who asked a lot of questions and were very familiar with the paint product we used).
There were a couple of technical problems with the finishing of stain grade window woodwork and miscommunications regarding the removal of a piece of piping, and they were very responsive fixing both.
Through the process I learned that there are somethings I need to do on the front end: in future paint jobs I will specify that I want all hardware removed before painting (they painted around tower bards and light switch plates, for example), and work very specific scheduling if we remain in the house during extensive interior painting.
We would use H&F again.

They were good for the most part. There were some highly priced additional items. The quote was padded with extra features I didn't have to justify costs. The envoice needed correcting. They were great at fixing any mishaps though.

.nsThis  was the second time they have painted a flat for me. As before they were punctual, neat, quiet and added a additional painter    
for the last day to finish sooner. Their were a few repaints around two light fixtures, a small spice cabinet and a mistake regarding
one molding. We then included a molding we had thought was fine but after the rest  was painted we saw it had smoke stains
It was an additional cost We paid $270.00.

Hired H&F to prep and paint exterior stucco of building. Painters were thorough in the prep work and even repaired minor wood rot.

They were very good! They were very easy to work with and I had no issues with them as far as communication. They were a little more expensive but they also did more work and I would hire them again!

Overall, we are extremely pleased with their work. At the end of each day Alison French stopped by to check in with me and see if I had any questions. That kind of concern for customer satisfaction was evident in all aspects of the job. I have to say that this was perhaps my best experience with a contractor in a very long time.

Great overall experience.  Prompt response to our first inquiry.  Took some time to set a date.  (THis company is excellent and busy.  Plan ahead!)  I was delighted to find a woman-owned company and wanted to work with them. Workers (Brock and Ricardo) were prompt each day, efficient and super-attentive to details and care of our home and their clean-up.  Lots of experience and they were terrific to work with!  Kudos to Alison and Jill for hiring such great staff! We will definitely pursue this company for future painting work at our house.

H&F did a terrific job from beginning to end. Jill and Alison were extremely courteous and professional during the proposal and initial walk-through processes. Jill was skilled and patient with us during the paint color selection process, and gave us great guidance. 
Their team was neat and tidy, and cleaned up well when they were all finished.  They use top quality, no VOC paints, so the walls looked terrific at the end and there was no noxious odors.
We did find it helpful to do a thorough walkthrough at the end to point out any areas for touchups  with them; the painters seemed to not catch them otherwise. But, they were responsive and quickly addressed any areas that needed some more attention. 
We definitely plan to use H&F whenever our house needs repainting in the future.

As noted above it went great!  The entire experience exceeded expectations!

The interior work was good, although we had to have them back because they missed part of  it. We also asked for an estimate for exterior. We received a partial estimate and did not receive the promised followup.

I would recommend them to others.  They were very knowledgeable.

They were great. They got the interior painting done in time before my tenants moved in and the exterior paingint was done quickly as well. The painting looks great!

Catching hold of Alison took a bit of efforts initially with the office as Alison seems to be very busy. But Alison returned call on a timely manner and that mattered.
We made on site estimate appointment at the end of May 2011, Alison was right on time for the appointment which we took as the good sign things would turn out good on this. Alison paid close attention to the exterior paint work need to be done. She described to us the surface preparation works required in order to have good paint job. We discussed color scheme. Alison gave us advice to use high quality paint which we appreciate. Alison gave us an estimate of work start schedule and duration for completion. She sent in the quotation for the project as promised. Payments schedules are very reasonable. We pay the first payment to start the project per schedule on the 20th of June 2011 as planned.
The work crew was punctual. The work was professional. Some complaints from the next door neighbor on dirt going over ot their property, and Alison & Jill and their work crew took care of that promptly, and that is excellent work ethics. The paint job progress as scheduled, the work crew was very professional. Jill came on site every morning to get the crew going.
One small area which can be better is there may be a better way to mark down the predetermined colors to be used on different part of the exterior, the crew did make some mistakes which was corrected promptly.
Our payments were on time too.
We love the whole paint job and it makes our home so nice looking.
The neighbors compliments the paint work to the crew and us. it is indeed quality work.

 Working with Heather and French was a pleasure from start to finish.  Within a day of emailing her,  I received a call from Jane (one of the two owners),  who scheduled a visit within a day or two.  Jane arrived on time for the appointment; and I found her personable as well as professional.  I appreciated her suggestion that one of the jobs I was asking about didn't need to be done, despite the fact that she would be losing business if I followed her advice.  Within a few days, she provided a firm estimate (I prefer to avoid the bad surprises that generally come with "time and materials").  Heather and French are not the people to call if you're looking for a bargain, but the quality is worth every penny.  We scheduled the time that would be most convenient for me. A week prior to beginning the work, H & F called to see whether the time still worked for me, and asked for my paint choices.  Each day of the job, the crew arrived on time and worked conscientiously throughout the day, steadily and meticulously.  Every member of the crew was courteous, friendly, completely professional, and highly skilled.  Altogether, the work took about four and a half days to complete.  Kevin and Lev, who did the pressure washing, carefully removed several ceramic masks we had hung under the eaves of the house - so that they wouldn't be damaged by the washing - and replaced them afterward.  I was always asked to look over the work before they left to be sure I was pleased.  I am delighted with the quality of the painting.  In general, it's true that no one cares as much about how the work is done as the homeowner, but this is not the case with Heather and French.  I've never seen more careful, conscientious, and meticulous workmanship.  Customer support  was also excellent:  both Jane and Jill, the second owner, were a pleasure to work with, and when I discovered a minor problem the day after the work was completed, Jill offered to send someone down immediately - an hour's drive away - to handle it.  I will definitely think of Heather and French the next time I need painters; I have complete faith in them.

It was a fantastic experience from beginning to end. Alison, who did the estimating work, arrived on time and was clearly knowledgeable. I thought based on her eye for detail and quality that the H&F bid would be the highest by far, but it turned out to be 2/3rds of the other bid I got (which was a nice surprise because I liked them so much I was prepared to go with them even if their bid was higher). They agreed to my timetable which was rather tight and specific, started on time and finished on schedule. The work they did was beautiful. It was really important to me to use Farrow and Ball, and I was very pleased that they were familiar with the paint line and knowledgeable about appropriate prime coats and number of required coats per room. I can't say enough positive about my experience with Alison, Jill and their crew. They also left the flat in immaculate condition. I will definitely use them in the future for all of my painting needs, and I highly recommend them without reservation.

My 1st impression of Alison and her team was great and it continued all the way through the entire project. They have clearly been doing this for a long time and knew exactly what I wanted - someone professional and someone that would do exactly what they said they would do. When Alison visited my home to gather information to prepare a quote she was on time and professional. Although the quote was higher than expected, I later realized that paying anything less could not have guaranteed the quality of workmanship this job required. Part of the job included a plaster, barrel ceiling which needed a lot of crack repairs. I had a project manager assigned to the job, Jacqui and also a contact in the office, Jill. Both helped me with color choices and even a quick, last minute color change. Their color recommendations were helpful but not pushy. They were also very patient with the change request and worked very hard to keep the completion date on target. The entire project was scheduled to complete in 5 days but the work required slightly more detail than anticipated so Jacqui came out for a few extra hours on the following day to complete the job and ensure that I was 100% satisfied. Aside from the fact that this group of individuals has been the most professional and easiest to work with in all my home repair projects over the last 12 months (and I've had a lot - over $60k), the quality of work is superb. I really can't say enough nice things. I believe it's the difference between, "Wow, this looks much better than before" and "Wow! Everything went so smoothly! This looks incredible! It's even better than I imagined!".

From the first contact with Alison Heather to Ms. Heather's follow up call at the end of the project, this is a first class, professional company. The crew showed up at exactly at the specified time. The bid was amazingly accurate in the estimate of time required. The detailing on the wooden window frames, baseboards, and built-in book shelves is beautiful. There were no unpleasant reminders that a paint crew had been in: the clean up was immaculate, no spilled or spattered paint anywhere. There were no unexpected "surprises". Everything went exactly as discussed ahead of time. They were even able to roll with a last minute obstacle of working with no running water during a plumbing shutdown in the building.
