The painter showed up on time and painted a two story hallway. He was professional, tidy, and did a great job on the project.

I selected three companies to interview for some wood repair on our stairs in the front of my house and a rotting post supporting exterior back stairs and to paint both the front and back. I decided to use a different company for the front and initially hired Doherty Restoration to work on the back--replace a rotting post on the back stairs of the house and to paint the entire exterior back and small deck . In working on the project, the company discovered extensive dry rot in the back. This problem occurred because of the work performed on my house by another contractor about 18 years ago. He had used cheap siding and did not build the deck correctly, which created a problem that I had no idea I had. Doherty Restoration came to my rescue by working with the City to get a permit for the dry rot repair and working around my vacation plans to get the work done as much as possible before the rains came. They had to remove the existing cheap siding, rebuild the deck, provide additional wrapping for the exterior, install new wood siding, and paint the exterior. Throughout this ordeal, I found Doherty Restoration to be responsive and caring. All the people who worked on the house were professional in their work on the job and in their demeanor. They were on time and put in a full day of hard work each day they worked on my house. I was very impressed with the quality of the work and their commitment to doing the work right. They also looked for ways to keep costs down for the homeowner and made many helpful suggestions. There were many times during the course of this project when I said and thought to myself, "Thank God I found these people." I had a bad experience with another contractor years ago in terms of the quality of the work and general dissatisfaction. Working with this company restored my faith that there are indeed some good contractors out there and they will do a good job for you. If you hire this company, you can be sure that they will get the job done right. I am very appreciative of the work done on my house and want to convey my heartfelt thanks to Patrick and his crew. I am thrilled with the work that they did and would not hesitate to recommend this company!

Initial responsiveness and appointment were quick and easy. I explained I needed two bathrooms painted.
The painter did not stay a full 8 hours as he said he needed to commute. He was very clean and organized and repainted two bathrooms. We had one 'patched' area in the second bathroom that needed to be textured and he said he did not have time to do that. He said he did not have time to paint the doors.
The work he did do was fine.

They were on time and did a good job. They needed some extra time to finish the work and this cost me a bit more.

It was very pleasant working with Frances Doherty who runs the office. She explained the whole process very clearly to me and set out my expectations. I then spoke with one of the head contractors who told me what supplies I needed to purchase in advance. The day of the painting, our worker arrived on time and with a smile on his face. It was a very easy, enjoyable experience working with the Doherty team.

The painter was good. I was really pleased with the work. I have stucco and wood and I had to color it so there were a number of colors. He had to follow suit on that. I had used him probably a few years ago for some minor exterior work in the back when I had some new decks put on. Then I got other bids from smaller contractors. But this was a big job and I wanted it done. It had to be tented because of the city codes. We were in darkness and there was scaffolding and netting. They did good clean-up. I am very fastidious and I was very pleased with the clean-up. If there was a problem, I called the owner and it got done. I am too old to play games. I just get it done. Their price was competitive. I liked them because they had a good crew. I had used them once before and my neighbor used them for interior work a few years ago and he was very pleased. So I decided to give them a shot and I liked it. He was competitive. The whole experience was positive and there was nothing negative. It is very hard to say that about a lot of companies. We had been getting bids and we put it off because the weather was bad and so forth. I am very pleased that we chose him. He was so positive and I would use him again. For the interior I have a guy that comes over to live in because I have animals. If I want a room done, I put him on and he is by himself, he is quiet, and he is great. I haven't used a company in a while.
