Furniture - Sales
Believe it or not, Crate & Barrell's Union Square store is a great place for well made furniture, including custom fabrics. Styles tend to be city contemporary, but not trendy or overly modern. Quality is excellent - our pieces are all American made from the usual sources (Vermont, North Carolina). They have a pretty good selection of custom fabrics, and they offer a custom sale occasionally which can lower the price of a custom piece below a stock piece. The staff is fairly knowledgeable, and the saleswoman (Rachel) from whom we most recently purchased a stock dresser and a bed with custom leather was particularly helpful in coming up with ideas to blen the the new pieces with our existing pieces. We also previously purchased a custom couch that we are thrilled with. Prices seem comparable with other furniture stores like Ethan Allen and Room & Board.
