John and his family were very professional and punctual. They came, performed air testing and disbursed the results in a timely manner.   They seemed pretty thorough with the inspection. They worked with us given our tight schedule. An excellent experience.

I suspected the presence of mold in our first floor due to an allergic reaction and a previous leak in the area.  John Riera and his son came, took moisture readings and air samples.  In addition, John was able to troubleshoot and provide other possible causes/solutions to the allergies.  He produced a detailed report with good advice.  The service is pricier than other mold inspection companies, but I like that there is no potential conflict as he does not do remediation, and that his expertise extends to other chemical contaminants.

Very easy to reach. The people answering the phones were extremely knowledgeable and spoke English fluently. We faxed back the contact and had an appointment in a few days, even though they were very busy. We contacted many companies before using this one, because of their expertise and specific plan for inspection. Our situation was unusual. We bought a house where the acoustic ceilings were removed without prior testing.
The tester came on-time and was very professional. He knew exactly where to get the wall samples, so they would also have joint compound samples. He cleaned up after himself. We got the reports exactly on-time. We would use them again if we need more testing.

They did okay. They were nice and showed up when they were supposed to. They did what they were supposed to do. There was a nice guy who came in and worked. The quality of their service was very good. They made an appointment, kept to their appointment and showed up on time. So, their responsiveness was good. Their professionalism was very good. They had a very nice and professional young guy who came over and did the testing. He was very precise and explained everything that was necessary and he was easy to work with. I would definitely use their services in the future too. They have their own contracting company and they do have recommendations for everything else too. They are pretty good and I think I made a good choice.

From the start permission had been given by the client - our home insurance company - for American Air Testing to communicate with us, the homeowners in need of mold remediation. It started out fine with good communication concerning the job. However, when the job became more complex because there turned out to be more extensive mold damage than initially estimated and because of delays due to rain, people at American Air Testing quickly became unhelpful and unwilling to try to answer questions. In answer to what I thought were pertinent questions, I was twice told I should enroll in a mold remediation course. I was repeatedly quoted rules and regulations by number without my few questions being answered. The person I was trying to reach did not return calls but instead I was only given opportunity to speak with the rude person who answered the phone. In the same amount of time on the phone, my concerns could easily have been addressed instead of repeatedly insulting me for asking too many questions and for being ignorant of the mysteries of mold. Email proved only slightly better though more time consuming. American Air Testing took over the role of commanding the remediation process which was performed by another contractor, hired by us. They never discussed this assumption of authority with us, nor gave us the respect of being willing to communicate with us about logistical details or options. When I persisted trying to ask about what I thought might be a reasonable option, instead of being able to get answers to my inquiry I was told to get another testing agent if I didn't like it. I couldn't recommend their manner of doing business. If all you need is an authority to tell everybody what to do, American Air Testing is probably okay but if you also want to understand what's going on in hopes of keeping expense and inconvenience to a minimum, I wouldn't recommend American Air Testing.

They were very thorough, extremely intelligent and very knowledgeable in the industry. It's a family business. The father and the son came out and did the work.

This company is fantastic. We found them on Angie's List and everything we read was true. Our 2 year old daughter is highly allergic to everything and we wanted to rule out mold. John wouldn't do more than was necessary and explained everything you've ever wanted to know about mold in detail. He also talked me through the report so I could share the findings with our allergist. I was really nervous about how much it all would cost, but luckily nothing was found.

Great. John is very knowledgeable. Thankfully the reports were negative for mold and mildew. John spent a great deal of time advising me of what to look for to spot mildew problems, and gave me detailed advice on how to properly install flooring and tile in high moisture areas to avoid any problems. Even after the report was complete, they welcomed calls from me for further information.
