Had my roof completely replaced in July by Jim and his crew at Preferred Roofing.  I have a lot of praise: 1) First, Preferred was my third quote.  I had a very low-ball quote months before that seemed too low to be true.  Then I went to a full licensed and bonded contractor who provided me with a quote that I knew was too high.  Then I called some people who referred me to Jim.  Jim came on-time (as he was for every appointment) did a full estimate and provided me with a complete portfolio with copies of license and insurance information.  The quote was about $4,000 less than a competitor, and in-line with what I expected to pay.  What also impressed me was that he provided a lengthy warranty on his work, and I noticed a higher quality of materials in the details on the estimate.  Both of these details were better than a much more expensive estimate from a competitor.  2) He and his crew were able to begin work soon and finished the whole project on-time.  All of the people working for him were of good character and friendly.  More importantly, they were professional and did high quality work.  When the job was done, I stood across the street for a half hour admiring how my house looked.  3) After a recent heavy rain storm, I noticed a problem, but it was NOT related to the roof job.  As it turns out, the very heavy winds that accompanied a tropical storm in September blew off a vent hood.  As soon as it dried, Jim's crew came and did a full inspection of the roof and discovered the problem due to the missing hood.  The next day Jim came by to install a brand new hood free of charge and did a second personal inspection.  My roof is tight and awesome and Jim provided an excellent service during the job and after payment was made.  I have complete confidence that I have Preferred Roofing as an asset if there is a problem in the future.

Contractor responded promptly by phone and to keep appointment. Went with him onto the roof and pointed out where leaks/problems existed. These were due to really bad design 20+ years ago. We discussed getting it right this time and the fact that this roof would probably cost a little more than I had figured on. The installers were here three days and took great pains especially with the problem areas. Rotten wood was replaced even though not anticipated and the price was not jacked up after the fact. What I especially liked was that trash (including nails) was cleaned up every night. Flashings were replaced everywhere. Nothing has leaked since (this is written Jan13). Also, this contractor didn't require any deposit up front. Guess he figured I would have no reason at the end of the job not to pay him. Very Satisfied.

I am extremely satisfied with their service. We are in an association and I am the president of that association, so we had him out several times to work on different roofs. He is very efficient. He is affordable and his prices are reasonable. He is on time. He does a high quality of work. He has a reasonable warranty on his work. We have actually had him come out and recheck the work. The roof is holding up wonderfully. The inside ceiling was not cleaned and there were stains. We thought the roof was still leaking because the marks were still there. We had him come out twice to check that out. He does not speak good English. We talked to him and tried to find out what it was. He requested us to call him when it is actually raining, so he could see it for himself. It turned out that the stains were dry and the ceiling was just not painted after the roof work was done. He was willing to come out and check that. I thought that it was an excellent service. We did get other estimates and compared to that he is very reasonable. I would use their service in the future too.

GREAT! Jim and his group did a super job. From his first appointment for the estimate, to on-time completion of the job, he was always prompt and professional. My neighbor, who is in the commercial roofing biz, was very impressed with their speed and quality of work. (They were done in three days!) There was no mess left - only a neatly arranged pile of extra roof tiles in the back yard. Price-wise he was right on target with other estimates we received. And he also honored a coupon in a local marketing magazine. I've waited to file this report until we had our first major rain storm. Final verdict - lots of rain, no leaks! Hooray for Preferred Roofing!
