He showed up and was professional. He gave an estimate on the spot. We got a detail sheet from the city for the block wall for the footing and wall construction, per his request. He returned when we were ready to proceed and sign the lengthy contract. We gave him the city's specs and a deposit. He returned as agreed upon to start the project.
We noticed when the footing was poured that he was doing half the depth and half the width specified on the city sheet and put NO rebarb in the footing like the sheet showed. We brought it to his attention and he said we never gave him a spec sheet from the city. We went to his truck with him to look through paperwork and came across the spec sheet. He then back tracked and said it was just a guideline and not a requirement for the depth, width or rebarb. He stated he would give us his lifetime guarantee that the wall would not 'fall'.
They mixed the concrete on site using our hose/water and broke the spray nozzle but didn't say anything. The concrete they mixed to pour in the wall cells is not as solid as QuickDry concrete we have poured. It was more of a slurry mix.
When he built the wall, he knew we had plans to expand the driveway to the wall. He dug his footing so shallow that the footing is higher in some spots than the elevation of the driveway.
He left us with a pile of sand in the front yard and didn't clean up his mortar spoils.
Frustrated and disappointed. He got it done in the specified time and price but not to the specs that we agreed upon.
Watch this lengthy contract!!!!!! He uses it as his scapegoat since the city specs weren't added to the contract he used it as his excuse not to do it that way.
The craftwork looks good from far but already seeing cracks in the mortar joints and it hasn't even been 6 months :(

Gary and his crew arrived promptly when scheduled. The work was done very professionally and efficiently. The work was completed when promised. He and his crew worked very cleanly. Everything was removed and cleaned up. The wall and the planter look terrific. Both my neighbor and I would highly recommend his services.

Gary is very professional he was willing to offer advice and his price was very competitive. He was always on time, the work was completed on schedule. The work site was always kept very clean, and clean-up on completion was outstanding. I would definitely use Gary Parker Construction again.
