Oh dear, you asked me for all the details.
Woodbridge Interiors is relativley new to the Pyramid shopping area on Miramar. They were apparently in a more sound financial position to be able to take over the showroom that Treasures had occupied before Treasures went out of business. We had shopped the sales at Treasures, but we weren't familiar with Woodbridge Interiors yet.
We were downsizng from a 5 bedroom house to a 2 bedroom condo after all the kids were out of the bigger house. It was a real challenge to find quality furniture that would fit into a smaller space. We had been to 10 different furniture stores trying to decide if we should switch from our old favorite, an 'elegant rustic' more traditional style over to a modern style since modern furniture seemed to have a lower profile and would fit into our smaller space. We never fell in love with anything until we saw the very unique Martini collection by Hancock and Moore in Woodbridge's front window. It was this very cool or 'hip' combination of traditional style with some modern flair. We never saw anything like it in any of the 10 other stores we shopped, not even online. Only at Woodbridge and on sale as a floor model.
Everything in their store is high quality and quite honestly the prices do reflect that. However we had also been to a discount furniture store in Vista where we could have purchased 4 pieces for less than the 2 Woodbridge pieces. However, the discount store's pieces that we liked were upholstered with bonded leather which we had to investigate a little since we hadn't been furniture shopping for years. We learned to say away from bonded leather and could see and feel that the difference between the two was night and day! We were reinventing ourselves and wanted our new home and it's furniture to last.
A key element to our shopping experience was our 'salesman', Glenn Foreman ASID, if you can call him a salesman. The superior service he brought to us sealed the deal. Now this part was a new idea to us, but at Woodbridge Interiors all of the 'sales' people are actually ASID (Interior Designers). Maybe more furniture stores are doing this these days, but I was amazed, because he and all the other Woodbridge sales/designers we came across were down to earth, not at all snobbish and were very patient. With their added credentials they were incredibly knowledgable and were trained to listen to us, hear what we wanted or needed and meet us 'where we were', (which was undecided, a little confused, and frustrated). It was a great experience then, but in retrospect I appreciate even more that Glenn Foreman was a genuine professional. He answered all of our naive questions (more than once) and patiently put up with our indecision which ran over 3 longish visits.
He went beyond all that to investigate and work up a bid to have Hancock and Moore custom build a matching ottoman that the Martini line didn't happen to have.
Then, get this, after we decided not to do that custom piece he even gave us some valuable advice on a moving specialist that specifically handles moving particularly larger pieces of furniture for moving a piece of our own furniture that we had not even bought through Glenn!
There you have it, I feel like I don't want to shop for furniture anywhere else now.
