It went perfectly, as usual. After dealing with the electrician from the pool company who said this would be impossible or nearly impossible, I emailed Chris at 8pm. I told my husband that Chris would get back with me in the morning by email, lo and behold the message was there before I even got up. He came out two days later and told me that once again he could fix my problem, no worries!! They truly are the best electricians. I didn't want to use the first guy(but he was included in the price of my pool remodel) but I knew better. Chris and the guys are the best. Don't waste your time with other electricians, these guys are the best. I will NEVER use another electrician, I will wait for WCE if I have to!! I only wish that they did plumbing!!

I found Chris and his team to be nice, polite, punctual, and responsive. Chris himself answered all my calls and emails promptly. All work was scheduled to be done within a very reasonable amount of time, they showed up on time, and worked hard while they were here. Chris was very nice and explained everything needed to be done. I felt the prices were reasonable, and less than a quote I had received from another company.
In addition I wanted to note that I made 2 mistakes myself in the work I asked to be done - the first was not communicating an existing issue and the second was trying to install something myself, lol. Chris returned both times, fixed everything with no complaints and a great attitude, and then didn't charge me for his time. I felt this was exceptional considering one problem I made for him took hours to fix.
As for the quality of the work - I feel it is excellent. I am years late in posting this review, and I apologize to Chris for that, but in posting at this late time I can tell you with certainty that everything works well, and we have had absolutely no problems. The electrical panel I asked Chris to install for us was a very large one (I didn't want to have to upgrade at some point in the future) and because of this when the City of San Diego sent out their inspector to inspect the job, they miscommunicated and sent one for residential and one for commercial (apts). So the city inspected the job twice and it passed both with no question at all. The job also had to be inspected by SDG&E because of the future underground connection and again it passed with no problems. Nice when you have a job done that can pass 3 inspections without a question! When it came time for SDG&E to actually hook up the underground feed (a year and a half later) they had no problems at all with the lines Chris has set up for them.
I would hire, and plan to hire, Chris again in the future.

It went perfectly. Chris and his crew showed up on time and completed the project quickly.
West Coast had been the 4th AND 6th electrical contractor I had out to fix my crushed pool conduit problem. Three others promised to come back after their initial visit and blew me off. Chris had a solution, but thought I should use a pool electrician, because they may have a special trick of the trade that would work better than his solution and gave me the name of someone. He wanted to make sure I was happy with the final result but told me to contact him back if there was a problem.
The other company came out and gave me their proposal and quote, then when the electrician came out to do the work claimed that it wasn't code and would then have to do something different at the tune of $3800 with me fixing the trenching mess and not including the price of replacing the pool bulb or fixing it if it was faulty. This was unacceptable, so I was back to square one. I emailed Chris... he came out the next day (on time) and we made a plan and put it on the schedule. He and his crew showed up on time and did exactly what was expected with a great attitude and lots of fun. I will never hesitate to use them again and highly recommend them to anyone. It is rare to find a company that tries to do the right thing for the customer and the job.
Use West Coast Electrical Solutions and you will not be sorry!!! I wish I had found them first, it would have saved me months of aggravation. Thanks Chris!!!

We were concerned we had a safety problem and Chris offered to come out the next day. When Chris was enroute, he called in advance to let us know he was on the way and he arrived on the scheduled time. He was friendly, efficient, thorough and diagnosed the problem quickly. He found the problem which was a simple fix and he did not try to upsell us or convince us we should have more work done than needed. We are very happy with the service, his professionalism, and would highly recommend him to friends - and we have!

They did a great job! They completed the work in about 3-4 hours. The cost was around $750 for parts and labor. They actually came under what they estimated. Chris was pleasure to work with as well.

Chris and Jeff worked efficiently and accomplished the job with minimal cutting of drywall. They had all necessary tools, parts and drop cloths. I was very pleased with their skills and professionalism. I would call them again for electrical work.

I cannot give anything but the highest rating for the professionalism and service
provided by West Coast Electric. I was having problems with a new thermostat
installation that required a professional electrician to repair. It happened on
short notice and I decided to take a chance and call them on a Friday evening.
To my surprise Chris from West Coast Electric picked up the phone and spent
almost an hour walking me through several different steps that should have
fixed the thermostat. When that didn't work, he offered to come out on Saturday
morning to take care of it for us. He showed up first thing in the morning and
spent about an hour before he had it fixed. I was so impressed with his
professionalism that I am bringing him back in to replace all of the old wiring
in our house.

Replaced electrical panel; separated one circuit into two; installed a vanity light, bathroom fan, two porch lights, and two sconces. | |Chris and his apprentice were great. On time and a pleasure to work with. They did exactly what I wanted with minimal direction and need for input. The price was great and the work done very well. They cleaned up and made my house look like they'd never been there. | |I'm already planning on using them again for some A/V work.

I recently moved to San Diego from New York, and purchased a home. So, I had to rely on Angie?s list to find an acceptable electrician. Particularly, the customer review on West Coast Electric came to my attention due to the fact that it received many high recommendations. So, when I contacted Chris in August to ask for an estimate on the job, he promptly made an appointment for visiting us the following day. Chris inspected each room and explained clearly what has to be done to my wife. He emailed me the estimate for completing the job less than a day. The quote was reasonable to me since I am familiar with the electrical work. I have done some electrical work myself at home and familiar with the work involved. Actually I can do the job myself with an assistant though. But, I decided not to do in my age. I sent more questions on his estimate by emailing. Every time, he kindly replied with clear explanation to my satisfaction. Finally, I offered the job. Two weeks later, he showed up with his assistant at the exact appointment time at the door. He installed each fan in an efficient way. He is one of the most efficient electricians I have had. Since our living room has high ceiling, and there is no room one can reach above ceiling physically, it was difficult to bring the wire to the center of the ceiling without damaging the wall. But, they have done the job by fishing wire without damaging any wall. They are highly skilled and efficient in installing such electrical equipment.
In my estimation, they have completed the work much faster than most ordinary electricians would?ve done. After they completed their job, they cleaned the place and took all the broken units with them. During the work, they are very courteous and maintained pleasant manner. Whenever we had any questions, he and his crew explained clearly and quickly to our satisfaction.
Previous customer reviews described their quality of work as neat, meticulous, honest, trustworthy, prompt, fairly priced, kind and courteous, etc. In my experience, the descriptions are indeed true. So, I don?t have to repeat them again here. If you need electrical work, I am certain you would have the same happy customer experience by choosing West Coast Electric.

I called West Coast Electric Solutions and spoke with Chris about my deck lights. Half of them were disconnected by an electrician who said they were shorting out and there was nothing he could do but disconnect them. He had just installed six new expensive lights on my deck and left me with only three working. Chris said he would be glad to come out and troubleshoot my problem. Chris arrived on time for our appointment and It took him less than an hour to determine the root of' the problem and the solution to fix it. He said he would purchase a more powerful transformer and install it on the deck instead of inside my house in my storage room where the present one was located. His analysis was exactly right and he returned two days later to install the new transformer and hook up all six deck lights to it. When he was finished all six lights worked perfectly. Chris is a fine young man and an excellent electrician. He also worked on my yard lights and had them all working fine (with new bulbs installed) before he left. I will be calling him in the future for any and all electrical needs I may have. I couldn't be happier with his work and he also has very reasonable rates for his excellent work.

The service was amazing from start to finish. Chris was most pleasant on the phone when I called to first inquire about having them come out to do some repairs on my newly purchased home. He was clear and concise in his descriptions of what he needed done, very through in the questions he asked and most important to me, was prompt in arranging for a date to come see what needed doing. Chris himself and one of his technicians came with him, they were at my door waiting at the time of the appointment and were nothing but kind and courteous the entire time. I took special note of how they were very careful to ensure they made no mess and cleaned up after themselves for any mess that might have been created during the work. Chris was thoughtful enough to walk me through what they were doing as they were doing it and explained in great detail the improvements made. They finished promptly and left the house looking just as it was when they got there...Actually that isn't entirely true, they made it even a little better. On the way out Chris noted that some of my ceiling fans had a slight wobble to them and was kind enough to do adjustments to them right than and there before leaving. Truly a wonderful work ethic and an experience I look forward to having again as I continue to call on them for all my Electrical needs.
Thank you guys for the great service and the wonderful customer experience. I will be recommending you to everyone I know.

.Chris and his team were timely, professional and trustworthy. As a new homeowner I was very fearful of getting ripped off. We purchased a short sale and there were a lot of issues that needed repair and Chris did a good job advising us on what to attack first....Chris did a good job outlining what we needed to do at our home to make it up to code and did a good job estimating what the cost would be. He itemized the bill so we knew exactly what we were paying for with no surprise expenses. Chris's knowledge of outdoor lighting was impressive, especially because he discovered that the pool light was a large part of the issue...Chris did not hesitate to get in the pool and figure out the issue. Chris any his team also did a great job patching up the damaged outlet in the wall along with giving us future advice on how we can repair other minor issues in our home. As a new homeowner it is comforting to find a trustworthy electrician that you know you can use for the rest of your life.

Chris installed all of our interior and exterior light fixtures and wired our home for all of its electrical outlets, including our landscape lighting. Chris provides us with regular maintenance on all of our lighting and continues to be the only electricain that we call for all of our needs. If you need an electrician for any job, small or large, Chris is amazing and I am so glad that we have him. He is timely, courteous, professional, honest and really listens to what we want and need. Another thing, I am pretty particular about my home and Chris is very neat and meticulous and always cleans up after his work and leaves things as clean as he found them, and this is something that I really appreciate. There is no reason for us to call another electrician as long as Chris Bailey is in business. He is simply the best there is.

UPDATE:
After reading Chris Bailey's response, i find myself dumbfounded. He does not have first hand knowledge of many of the events and yet speaks as if he does and has made up some facts of his own where he does have first hand knowledge. I refrained from noting some other problems with the install but since Chris Bailey has so grossly made-up and "spun" the facts of the case i think i'll make a full accounting of the substandard work they performed and note some factual corrections as well. Because he has responded in a grossly untruthful way, i?m reducing his rating as much as possible.
Rebuttal:
I never sat around and watched the entire install of the pendant light. I was in the library working. The light was removed by Chris? junior (not senior journeyman, who was installing the garage light at the time) worker from the brand new product box and it had install instructions right there as one would expect with a depiction of the light with the power cable circling around the support lines. On the box itself was a depiction of the light with the cable circling around the support cables. Chris knows this so when he states there were no depictions or instructions he is not being truthful, disappointingly. I personally put the install instructions on the kitchen table so they could see it in case they needed it. I never gave them any guidance about what to do with anything other than the general height and positioning i wanted the light to hang above the kitchen table.
Additional problems with the day?s work:
1) Before the work was done Chris Bailey stated many times that it would be easy to install new LED lights in our cans in our 2002 house and suggested the exact model at Home Depot to get. I proceeded to get these lights and they did not fit because it turns out the cans in the ceiling were missing some features that most cans apparently have. I tried 3 different models and none of them worked. If Chris Bailey had actuality checked the cans he should have realized they wouldn't have worked and saved me several trips to Home Depot. He repeatedly said he'd look into it and find something that would work but never did. He apologized for this not working out as he had said it would but it's better to know what you are talking about in the first place and not waste the clients time.
2) The Journeyman with 14 years of experience failed to reconnect my z-wave 3-way switch correctly, after installing the 2 dimmer switches beside it, so now it doesn't work. I just discovered this. All he had to do was wire it up as it had originally been wired and confirm it was working. He did not.
3) The Journeyman installed my fluorescent tube light in the garage in the most substandard way. He made crude holes in the ceiling, one with his screwdriver as i watched. It looked really bad and totally unfinished. Chris came out and looked at it and actually told me that this is how they normally do it. Wow! Chris fixed it per my instructions (suggested to me by a Home Depot employee) of putting in screw hooks so it has a nice finished look with the holes covered.
4) When Chris Bailey came over to correct the work done by his crew, he was actually quite rough and acted at various times like he was tired and frustrated in having to pull the cable out on the pendant light. He was rough with the light and scratched it in various places which i noticed after he left while i was polishing the light to removed all the smudges he left behind. There is a large scratch on the chrome ceiling cap, for example. The light has a mirror and chrome finish and must be handled with care, which he failed to do. At one point he almost placed the light on my bare wood dining table which would have scratched it in no uncertain terms before i stopped him.
It is true, i did not tell him i was upset or unhappy with him or that i was about to leave a negative review. But after I considered the totality of the job, his remarks about my supposed culpability for what happened and noticed all the blemishes and scratches he left behind on the light from his roughshod treatment as well as taking into consideration that every time anything is done with the light i had to remove the approx. 54 glass faucets extremely carefully, i had no interest in seeing what would happen to my light after he tried to rewire a new electrical cable. Obviously, it goes without saying that if you cut a cable super short without even consulting with the client and then blame them for it mistake, they will not be happy. I?m not the type of person who will get angry and be rude to a service provider in order to alert them to the fact that i?m about to leave a negative review. I appreciate but also expect a company to fix mistakes in workmanship and to stand behind their work. Ultimately he didn?t fix the power cable and his behavior while here of rough treatment of the light and vacillation between being apologetic one moment and blaming me for the problems the next really made me feel like he was just trying to insure i didn?t leave a negative review. It was all kind of an act.
Here is advice to Chris Bailey. Never leave a response where you deliberately misstate facts. I really find your response to be offensive. Never leave a critical review of the client in general because that damages your relationship with that client even more and makes you look bad to potential clients. You should simply say you are sorry it didn?t work out and you tried your best and will make sure that any mistakes or ?process issues? performed by your team in the future will be corrected so bungled installs like this don?t happen again. In other words, you need to accept responsibility and move on.

Chris Bailey was very nice and knowledgeable when he came out to give us an estimate. However, things did not end well with work that principally involved the install of an ET2 Pendant light over the kitchen table. Chris called several days beforehand and said his back was acting up so on the install day he may not be available but his assistants would handle it. He was ultimately able to stop by briefly during the day. On the day of the install his two crew members showed up on time and began work. The junior member inexplicably was the one doing the most important work: hanging the expensive and fragile pendent light. Since it didn't look any good the way he had the cable draped, I told him to tighten it back up again like he had it originally. I later looked at the discarded parts in the trash bin and found he had cut 8' of insulation from the cable's length and there were multiple abraded sections.I called ET2 and they said there was no way to replace the cable and they did not recommend or support such a course of action. It would invalidate the warranty.I related this to Chris later that day and he said he'd find out about replacing the cable (he could rewire a similar replacement cable himself if need be) as well as talk to his team. Response from WEST COAST ELECTRIC SOLUTIONS, INC.
"Thank you for taking the time to read my reviews and my response. When it came time to install [member name removed] pendant fixture, I had two of my trusted electricians hang the fixture. One of my journeymen has over 14 years of experience so this was certainly not a training exercise nor would I send somebody that I didn’t think was qualified to perform the work. They were asked to install the fixture with the cord tight and straight. In fact, the customer asked to have the cord tightened even more after the first attempt. [member name removed] watched them throughout the install and they were not given any plans or shown any drawings. When you hang this type of fixture and you want a straight cord you have to cut the length off of the cord in order to install it properly. Later in the week [member name removed] called me and told me that he now wanted the cord to have an “S” look. I personally went to his home a few days later on my own time (free of charge) and was able to pull out enough length from the original cord to give him his new desired “S” look. [member name removed], his partner and I spent more than an hour looking at an artist drawing and several different pictures online to compare his fixture to others. They were satisfied when I left the home. I told [member name removed] that if he or his partner changed their minds and wanted more cord to show that I would come back a third time and rewire the fixture (free of charge) with a new cord. This review caught me off guard because not only did neither he nor his partner call me to let me know they wanted something different but this review is the first time that I knew they were not satisfied. As always, I went above and beyond to make sure the customer was satisfied, spending hours of my time without charge to them. I left with the understanding that if they changed their mind again I would be contacted and I’d go back again to rewire the fixture. It’s unfortunate that even though I held up my end of the agreement, I received a review that does not reflect the work and customer care that the entire crew of West Coast Electric performed. The entire review was based on the look of the cord installed to his original instruction. We were punctual, responsive, professional, clean, courteous, and true to my original price quote. These are the things that my company prides itself on. That is what I expect to be reviewed by."

We first scheduled the exhaust fan job. Chris the owner gave very good advice on new fans to install and a very reasonable quote over the phone, so we decided right away to go with them, not getting a second quote. The other jobs were done afterwards during another appointment. The first day we met another electrician, also named Chris, who came with the helper Jeff and installed one of the exhaust fans, and then Christ came and did all the other jobs during two visits, with Jeff there to help. All three are extremely professional, punctual, efficient, helpful, wonderful people. They arrived at the exact scheduled time, did the work with the efficiency and competence of a master grade electrician, gave great advice, cleaned up afterwards, charged a very reasonable fee for all the work they did. A very pleasant experience and we highly recommend them for any electrical job.
