Upholstery Design

James Butler of Upholstery Design advised me on the purchase of the leather which I wanted to match as closely as possible to the original on the chair.  I bought a hide at one of the shops he recommended.  I wanted to buy the piece myself to see it in advance and to save time as we wanted to have the chair upholstered while we were traveling.  I took the hide to James for his approval.  He examined it very closely on both front and back, and gave his OK.  On the appointed day, he picked up the chair, did the work while we were out of town, and returned it when completed, a couple of days after we returned.  It looks great!.  He took special care to maximize the use of the leather hide in order to get enough material to also recover the back that had a couple of tears.  This was not in the original discussion of the extent of the job, but he did this and did not charge anything extra. This is my husband's favorite chair, and he's very happy with the result, as James also added padding for support.  We are completely happy with the job, and strongly recommend James's work.

He advised us how to procure leather ourselves from a local wholesaler to save quite a bit of money. He picked up and delivered eveyrthing. The work is beautiful, and was completed on time.
