UGH! Dave is a fast and smooth talker but I just don't think he has the skill to handle such a job despite his extensive claims of experience. He made several significant errors including: 1)missing parts, 2)failed to secure the fuel line after taking out the engine resulting in many gallons of fuel dumped in the bilge and the newly built injector pump being contaminated, 3) failed to reconnect the alternator correctly, and 4) alternator rebuild seriously failed twice (appears he lost parts to it). After 12 hours on the engine, the brand new oil pump failed and the engine quickly seized. He failed to stand by his work when I told him about it. When the insurance company got involved, licensed surveyors and another mechanic, I learned he had used the wrong sealer, left off parts (including a bolt on the FLYWHEEL!) I realized he probably did not follow the pre-lube req. for the pump clearly noted in the manual. Shop is closed. He is still working on boats in S.D.
