Tim Long Painting

I highly recommend Tim. He and his crew did an excellent job painting both the interior and exterior of my home. They were prompt, detailed, and made sure I was completely satisfied. If you’re looking for the highest quality craftsmanship, at a reasonable price, then Tim is your guy. They were always on time, friendly, and very professional. When it came time to do the final walk-thru, there were no touch ups needed – very impressive!

The job went really well. Tim is responsive to texting and conscientious about his company. He worked with my ever-changing schedule and I appreciate his flexibility. I initially spoke with Tim and set up the appointment. Pablo was the painter and did a great job. I am actually going to follow up with a quote request to do more painting.

Tim was responsive from my initial call and all future communication as the scope of the work adjusted. For the estimate, Tim was on time, listened and provided a few suggestions. I received the estimate a few days later and was impressed with the quote, esp compared to the other estimates I had received. When the time came to schedule a painting crew, Tim again was responsive and committed to start in the day I requested. The crew arrived early, walked the job with us, left to purchase the 3 paint colors, returned and got right to work. The crews were timely, professional, clean, communicated as the 3 day job progressed and even asked questions on a few things we didn’t consider. I am extremely pleased with all aspects of the job, wouldn’t hesitate to hire Tim Long Painting in the future and highly recommend Tim and his crew(s)

Other than some miscommunication about the ceiling downstairs the job went great. Tim was responsive to some last minute changes in the scope of the project and was very quick in dispatching someone to get the ceiling done downstairs. He has a good eye for choosing color and was absolutely right about going with the Swiss Coffee to cover our old beige walls. Very professional and understanding when we made last-minute changes. I know that we were not necessarily the easiest clients to work with.

The guys and the crew showed up on time. They did all the prep work, and tidied up after themselves. I think they communicated very well. They did a good job. It was a big house in size. It took about two weeks to complete. I got much better offers, but I read the recommendations, and decided to go with him.

It was okay. They showed up on time every single day, but the progress wasn’t there. They just didn’t get everything completed. In the time frame, there was a lot of dead time. I wouldn’t actually call it prep time, but clean up time. They will get about 7 ¼ hours worth of work to be done in a day. Then that additional ¾ of the time is like for the guy to come and get set up and to clean his brushes. There is 2 of them, so that is literally an hour & a half worth of time that I give away. It’s like, I will buy you a bunch of brushes, don’t clean them in my house and don’t spend my time. It’s just stuff like that.

Tim showed up on time (actually 30 min early) to provide his estimate and provided a detailed proposal shortly after. His bid came in around where I expected. The job was performed professionally and I am very please the outcome. I also used Tim to help out with some painting in some hard to reach areas of the interior of my home. I provided the painter a list and he was able to complete everything in one day. The painter for a day deal was well worth it.

They did a great job of getting me scheduled quickly according to my tight time frame. Tim was helpful with the color selection process, and I'm so pleased with the finished product! Will hire them again when I need the interior painted. Highly recommend.

The painting project went very well. Mr. Long came out and looked at the scope of the painting I needed done. We have high ceiling in the majority of this part of the house and I was worried that might add to the price of the "deal" I purchased. Mr. Long assured me that it wouldn't be a problem. He was flexible about the exact date because the kitchen was being redone. I was having difficulty deciding on the exact colors I wanted and I received good advice about the paint colors from Tim. On May 31, Pablo came to start the work. He meticulously prepared the area for painting and began to work. I was very impressed how much he got done the first day. The next day Pablo returned at about 7:15 and quickly got to work again. All the time he was in our home he was polite and considerate of all our concerns. On Thursday, Pablo brought Giovanni so that the work could be finished by Friday. They worked hard all day. While they worked in the kitchen they were very careful about the new cabinets and made sure they were protected. I definitely will have Mr. Long's company out again. I think probably exterior painting is in picture in 2017. I am glad to have found a trustworthy, capable company at a reasonable price, thanks to Tim, Pablo and Giovanni.

The wood trim was old and damaged in several places and Tim's crew made it look great. We are thrilled with the results and feel it's taken years off our home exterior.  Tim's crew completed the job in a timely manner and were very responsive.  They are also reasonably priced compared to others and we would definitely recommend them to others. We will use them again for other painting jobs! 

Tim and his crew were fantastic.  They were very thorough, but also finished the job quickly.  We were very impressed with their professionalism, while also being friendly and accommodating so that we could function in the house while they worked.  They also give me insight regarding the condition of our exterior wood.  They are clearly very experienced and have a tremendous amount of knowledge, for which we are grateful!  I highly recommend them.

I seldom write reviews, but I was very impressed with Tim Long Painting. Tim's estimate was quite competitive and came with a few extras such as removing three unnecessary window security bars and painting the other six. Tim is a cordial person, tries to please, and is easy to work with. He does carry $2 million in general liability and $1 million in worker's comp insurance and provided me  with a copy of his coverage (upon  my request.)  I feel that anyone I hire  who climbs  on a ladder or even a step stool  must have proof of  license, worker's comp and/or liability insurance. 

The work began on a Wednesday promptly at 8:30 am as scheduled, with the power washing. Next day,  the masking/taping, caulking/ prep,etc.  then the painting for the next two days.  The workers were punctual every day, polite, friendly, and go about their work in a business-like manner.  We had some of the neighbors come over just to let us know how great they thought our house looked  after it was completed.  One neighbor contacted Tim for an estimate and another planned to do so in the near future. 

We used Home Depot Behr Premium Plus Ultra paint  - satin and semi-gloss - since it scored well with Consumer Reports and because the exterior is all wood siding/trim with no stucco. Behr Premium Plus Marquee was the highest rated but would have added to the cost and we think the Ultra paint worked out just fine. Our home is a little over 1,800 sq. ft.

We are very happy with how the job went.  The workers were careful and neat. They spent a long time just putting masking in place, before they even started painting; colors were properly matched; and the final result is exactly what we had in mind. The workers were consistently polite and friendly, and cleaned up properly.

Tim was easy to reach by phone and email, and always replied quickly and effectively. He was also flexible and helpful, throughout the whole process.

For one thing, he was willing to use a special fire-retardant paint we had found, in order to reduce the risk from wildfires. (Our house backs on parkland.)  This was a costly special order, explaining why the job may look expensive, and required two base coats followed by a top coat. Another painter we contacted earlier was not willing to work with this paint, but Tim took it on, even though it made the job more complicated.  

Tim also brought in someone to tear out an old shed we wanted removed and patch the stucco where it had been anchored to the exterior wall of the house; replaced the side-gates, which were falling apart, and painted the new ones; and hauled away some old, heavy fountain parts we needed removed. He also had his team hang a decorative hanging high on our interior livingroom wall, at our request. (This involved ladder work we were uncomfortable trying ourselves.)  And, after the main job seemed done, we decided we wanted the gaps in our eaves closed up, again, as a defense against fires, and Tim got this done quickly and well as an add-on.

Overall-- a good experience!
