They did a great job. The gentleman who worked on our piano was prompt and really did a good job. I plan on using them again this year. I would definitely recommend them to anyone because they are efficient and their prices are very reasonable.

I inherited my grandmother's 1920, Stodart, upright player piano upon the death of my parents. I grew up with this piano being in my grandmother's home next door to ours. The piano was located in Tulare, California about 300 miles from here. The piano was in need of being completely refinished, both inside and out. I knew what needed to be done, but I didn't know how to get the piano down to San Diego or who could restore it. I looked on Angie's list and noted a write up for and quot;The Piano Placeand quot;. The write up was very complimentary, and I liked what I read when I went to web site of and quot;The Piano Placeand quot;.
My wife and I stopped in to evaluate The Piano Place, which was located just off Miramar Road. We met the owner Abel Sanchez, who was very gracious. He gave us a relaxed tour of his facility and educated us on the restoration process. It was obvious that he a lot of experience at restoring pianos, in fact, 50 years worth of experience.
I explained to him our needs and he said that he suggested the following:
1. He could arrange for a piano moving company to pick up and bring the piano down here from Tulare and directly to his shop.
2. He would clean and restore the piano and we could select the color that we wanted to have the piano refinished in and he would stain a sample so that we knew exactly what it would look like.
3. He suggested that we use Diane De Tar to restore the inner working of the player part of the piano. Her work would be a separate charge paid to her.
We feel blessed to have found Abel Sanchez and The Piano Place. The piano was picked up from Tulare and delivered to the Piano Place. Abel Sanchez's technicians and Diane DeTar did an amazing job of bringing my grandmother's player piano back to life. It was completely restored inside and out and delivered to our home in Escondido by some very competent piano movers. Diane and her husband came along to ensure the piano still sounded as it should and to give us a lesson on all the parts of the player part of the piano and how to use it. The piano looks and sounds like new.
We could not be more pleased with the depth and breadth of experience showed by those who restored our piano. They were very knowledgeable, experienced, professional, and honest people to deal with. They showed deep integrity and were always genuinely very cordial and nice to deal with. I recommend The Piano Place and Abel Sanchez to anyone who needs a piano restored and/or refinished. You will get an outstanding result a fair price.

He and this company are fabulous. He restored my 1912 Bush and Gerts Piano that needs a conceivable work and he did an amazing job. He's very helpful. He really knows what he's going to do. Overall he provided me an excellent service.

I discovered The Piano Place by looking in the phone book, I talked to several other sources such as piano tuners and furniture refinishers who recommended Abel Sanchez as the most professional piano refinisher and restorer. I had several conversations with him and his wife and sons over the phone, I was given a tour of his factory and was educated in detail about the process of refinishing my piano. I was completely impressed with the knowledge, the professionalism, flexibility, timeliness and friendliness exhibited by Abel and his family members. When it was time for him to deliver the piano to me, there was rain forecast so he hired a piano moving company with a covered truck to deliver my piano at his own expense. My piano looks beautiful. They handled every detail expertly and with such ease. I could not have asked for any better service. This man is a professional. Abel also sells pianos and delights in showing his craft and skill at coverting antique pianos several hundred years old into beautiful desks. he is a very talented man and buiness.
