"This client came to us seeking to buy and then sell their current home, but we never got that far. Without divulging personal details about this client, I will say that her situation was complicated and potentially risky. We gave her our advice, but also recommended that she consult with her attorney regarding the legal and tax ramifications. Part of our fiduciary responsibility is to act with the utmost honesty and integrity on behalf of our clients. Many agents would have gone for the quick sale, however this client’s situation was delicate and in our opinion required legal counsel. Real estate can be used as a tool to help enrich your life, but when used improperly the effects can be crippling and long lasting. Even though we were unable to assist this client in buying and selling, at least we were able to identify the issues that need to be addressed in order for her to do so in the future.
