SuperShuttle San Diego

The shuttle arrived precisely on time and I had received a url which allowed me to track the shuttle in real time. It arrived at the airport and dropped me off in plenty of time. The ride wasn't particularly comfortable as the suspension wasn't in very good shape, but I had noticed that the roads in San Diego seemed to take a toll on many vehicles.

STOOD UP by SuperShuttle - on July 4th holiday weekend!! We made reservations and prepaid (WITH prepaid tip) five (5) days in advance for an 11-mile round-trip service to/from the airport July 1st. SuperShuttle confirmed our reservation June 27th, sent reminder on June 30th, and 20 minutes prior to pick-up July 1st, a message notified us of the SuperShuttle van number (799) with a link to track our vehicle that did not work. We waited - no shuttle. 10 minutes after pick-up time (under 2 hours before flight), we called. We were told driver will call. Dispatcher reassured us driver will be there with “no problem, you’ll be on time,” when asked. 15 minutes passed. Less than 90 minutes before flight and it is now rush hour traffic on July 4th weekend, we decide to try driving and they call….Dispatcher says “We’re really, really sorry, but we don’t have a van available because of the busy holiday airport traffic and we just can't get there to pick you up.” We are 11 miles from the airport - not 50 miles away - and we prepaid reservations several days in advanced!!! After we were turned down at 3 lots we found parking. (Oddly, there was no traffic and our parking shuttle drove right up to the terminal with no problem, SuperShuttle.) Thanks to TSA preferred lanes, we made the gate as flight was boarding. To add insult to injury….when we returned, SuperShuttle sends us a text with our return shuttle information when our flight landed! If you can afford missing flights and risk losing hotel deposits, etc. – SuperShuttle is your shuttle of choice. For the rest of us, this is NOT worth the risk.

The driver was on time and very professional.  He helped with my luggage and helped me get inside the terminal.  Upon my return he took the bags to the front door.

They've improved a lot in the past few years, as their company has grown. Their website is great, and they keep in communication well. The drivers are now owner operators. I have a better experience with some than others, but the company always does a wonderful job of following up.

My friend (who is confined to a wheelchair) booked a ride from his San DIego hotel to the airport. When the shuttle arrived, they called him and his attendant explained that they were coming but due to his circumstances it would take a few extra minutes to get to them. The driver was rude, said they would not wait and left them high and dry. Subsequently my friend (and his attendant) missed their flight home. Due to his medical condition, he was not able to get a flight with another airline and the hotel could not give them an extra night in their hotel. We are in the process of calling around to try to get them a fight out of San Diego tomorrow and a bed for tonight. It is hard to get transport for people with special needs in San Diego but we will try to find another service next time.

Actually he was very patient - I live in a gated mobile home park and forgot the gate would be closed w en he came to pick me up at 4:30 AM. I thought I had the correct number to let him in but didn't and finally ran down to the gate with my suitcase in tow and everybody made ti to the airport with enough time to spare and didn't miss any flights. Not only was the driver very understanding but so were the other people in the van.

I just used them once. We had it where we didn't share it, there were 4 of us meeting here at my house and we paid $160 for both trips. They did a great job, I was quite happy with them. They showed up on time.

The staff at the airport was fantastic and arranged for a large shuttle within minutes to transport our group of 6 with luggage home after a long day of traveling. The shuttle driver was very professional and pleasant. We would definitely use this company again.

They are always on time, clean and very friendly. They are great with directions and know where you want to go and very efficient.

I made the Cloud 9 prepaid booking via the Internet about two weeks in advance of our need for travel. They had a good website, easy to navigate, and gave us our choice of pickup times within a 15-minute window.

Cloud 9 arrived at our home promptly -- within the scheduled pickup time -- loaded us onto the van quickly and carefully. The driver stopped to pick up one other passenger and got us to the airport on time. The van was clean and the driver was courteous, professional, and a very careful driver. The driver went above and beyond the and quot;call of dutyand quot; for the other passenger -- a somewhat befuddled older woman. She could not get her luggage out of her apartment, so the driver brought it down to the van. The woman then spent a great deal of time in her apartment closing things up. When she finally appeared, she was dragging a large, torn, plastic bag full of trash, which she asked the driver to take to the dumpster before taking her to the airport. I was more than a little surprised when the driver actually did take her bag of trash across the apartment parking lot and place in the dumpster. The woman complained constantly about a varied number of things (her health, the weather, the fact that she didn't want to go on the trip, etc.) during the drive to the airport, but the driver kept his cool the entire time -- something I'm not sure I would have done if I had been the driver. The driver and I exchanged smiles when she finally got off the van.

On our return trip from the airport, Sunday, April 1, at 11:30PM, my wife and I picked up our bags and took them outside to Cloud 9's kiosk, where we confirmed our reservation and checked in. The two of us, and our luggage, were loaded onto a van with four other passengers. The driver dropped two of the passengers off first since their destinations were close-by, then drove us to our home. We arrived home about 12:30 AM, at which time the driver unloaded our luggage for us. As with first trip, the driver was courteous and very professional.

We paid $86 plus tips for the two trips. If we had taken a relatively short trip, say less than a week, it probably would have been cheaper for us to drive ourselves to the airport and use long-term parking; however, since we were gone for two weeks, the shuttle cost was significantly less than what we would have paid for long-term parking. A non-tangible benefit was having a quiet (except for the complaining, and eventually amusing, woman), comfortable, stress-free ride to and from the airport, and not having to worry about our car sitting in a long-term parking structure while were were gone.

So, we were very pleased with the service and cost, and would most definitely use the service again.

Super Shuttle is punctual for pick up and quick to the airport. The problem is on the return trip. Super Shuttle places up to 4 stops on each van leaving the airport. Since I leave relatively far from the airport, I am usually the last stop. The trip from the airport this last Thursday took 1 and a half hours to complete. For the price, this is unacceptable. The flight was 3 hours. The van ride was 50% of my flight time. On the positive side, the vans are clean and the drivers are all competent and professional.

Good experience. Web reservation was easy, they showed up on time, I got to the airport on time, price was reasonable, van was clean and driver was professional.

The price listed is for one way. I would go with a limo service from now on. When you use a shuttle service, they not only pick you up, but they pick others up. I prefer a limo service because it's just me and we don't have to stop for others.

They arrived promptly and shuttle was in great condition (like new). They even helped me out when I realized I had made a mistake booking the shuttle and called the company at the last minute. They had a shuttle out to me in 7 minutes! I was on time for my flight (whew!)

I made my reservation online the night before my flight. The shuttle arrived promptly, was clean, and the driver was nice. I was delivered at the airport at the exact time requested.
